Customer Review: Good headphones for the price

This is my third set of PC headphones and perhaps my 5th or 6th set of nice headphones overall where I cared if they got stolen or ruined. I purchased these headphones about 9 months ago and they're still going strong. I originally bought them for an online class, but I now use them several hours a week for gaming online and listening to music on my desktop computer.
Sound clarity is very good for its class - not as good as my Bose QC headphones, but those are hard to beat in that category. Game sound effects are clear and have a good response range - explosions are crisp and with a decent sound card you can pinpoint the direction of a sound source in game. Some EQ tweaks may be required for music.
If you can tolerate around-ear headphones in general, these are pretty comfortable. Although my ear area gets a little sweaty and I may have to take them off to ventilate from time to time, I can wear them for several hours without any problems - no headaches or other issues. Soft leather ear cushions and padding around the head are not the best I've had but still pretty nice.
My fellow gamers say that mic sound is some of the best they've heard in voice chat, so no complaints about microphone sound. The action on the mic boom may get a little mushy over time, but it still holds the mic in place as long as you're not doing any heavy metal head bobbing.
My only complaint about these headphones is that the cable is not protected with any sort of braiding and is not detachable from the headphones, so if you get a short in them, you either have to be handy at patching and splicing or you have to toss them and get a new pair. Otherwise, construction is pretty solid.
Bottom line - if you're looking for a decent pair of around-ear PC/gaming headphones, these are pretty good ones for the money.
