Here's my review of this headphone. I bought it back in 2007 in november and now im gonna do a review. the creative zen headphones are magnificent!
there's only one thing that i see is a small problem and that is the right earbud of mines sounds lower than the left earbud... or maybe it's my ears. anyways it doesn't bug me at all when i turn the volume up to 13 on my zen. i guess im not that picky. another thing that someone might not like if they're picky is that when you wear it and there's no music you can hear the string of the earbuds clanking on another. nothing too serious that should stop you from buying this...unless you got alot of money. now for the good things bout it!
Im using a creative Vision M 30gb mp3 player and the sound is spectacular. Listening to many of my mp3 that are 320kbp, i can hear the bass and clear acoustic sound like guitars. The voice is awesome and clear but what's amazing is the bass that appeals most to me. on the zen player im using classical equalization with smart volume on and bass boost. im sure if you got a really decent mp3 player with equalization the music experience will be even better than mines. I bought my creative vision m also 2007 and these headphones a few month after i got the player.
the old headphones leaked sound, this one does not. i love these headphones and i use them before i go to class and sometimes during a boring class. when eating it kind of becomes a problem but i was a noob up until now when im writting this review (april 2009).
***to solve the problem of the headphones loosening when you chew food and eat food, first you put the headphone slightly in your ear, as you push it in deeper you twist the headphone either clockwise or counterclockwise so that it stays in there while you eat and it works for me !!!
Even listening to the song "my will" by dream (which is in inuyasha) at 128kbp, i can still hear the bass with this headphone it is incredible! I also find that when i disable the bass boost feature on my mp3 player, i can still hear the same amount of bass by switching the equalization to ROCK. if your mp3 player doesn't have good equalization...you might be disappointed with this headphone but then again i don't know since my mp3 players that i buy have these option. The headphone is truly noise isolation you can't hear people talk to you when you turn the music up to normal which for me is like 10 to 13 on the player.just don't forget that twisting in the ear thing and you can use this trick with any earbud type of headphones.
Another test is with the song "In full bloom" from the dynasty warriors 4 soundtrack at 145 kbps. I can hear many instruments that i did not hear clearly before with this headphone ie. drums, cymbals, bass guitar, and the electric guitar solos all sound so good, its live!
