I needed a car charger for my Acer laptop and this charger had a tip that worked. Just as with universal remotes, the term universal is a relative term. As the directions state, it is very important to check the output and input voltage on the charger that came with the computer before purchasing this charger and equally important to properly set the voltage on the charger before use. I did both and was not disappointed. This worked for me and I hope it works for others with the same need. Finally, when compared to other options, the price cannot be beaten.
