I have owned this Coby DVD player for a few weeks now, and I wholeheartedly agree with all of the positive reviews so far. The unit is tough, attractive, and completely functional. However, the tablet style is good for far more than just car trips. I bought this player because I realized that it was the perfect size to fit in BOOK RACKS on the cardio machines at the gym! No more watching FOX news or VH1 on the gym TV...pair this DVD player with a Netflix subscription, and you will suddenly have incredible motivation to work out, because every time you go you get to watch exactly what you want. My plan has worked perfectly, and the Coby DVD player does the job so well. For use at the gym, this beats a video iPod any day. I am a college student, and owning this DVD player has been a lifesaver, in terms of combining two very important activities--relaxation and exercise!Customer Review: Wow!

What a deal. This unit is priced great and works well. Comes with a headrest mounting kit for your vehicle, in addition:
- rechargeable battery, so no wires needed in vehicle, plus can be handheld.
- good picture, decent sound with built in speakers.
- "Hold" switch on the side so it doesn't matter if little fingers start pressing buttons.
- All the other accessories you may need: coiled power cord for car, power adapter for 110v, remote control, 2 sets headphones.
Only slight negative is the clamshell design...wish it was slot loaded. Concerned the latch mechanism will be the first to go. Had to return a piece of junk Dual unit because the thing many times would not recognize the DVD, or would pop open. So far in the month we've had it, not a single problem though. Buy it now!!!

This is one excellent little machine!! I bought 2 of them for my 2 kids to use on road trips, but we've gotten far more use out of them than that. My husband watches one or two movies a day on one of them at work, and he loves it. I use the other one at home frequently in the kitchen, thanks to the adjustable kickstand in the back which allows me to set it on the counter while I cook. We get about 3 hours out of the batteries, which is very impressive for a piece of electronics like this. They are sturdy too, not flimsy, and you don't feel like you have to be very delicate with them. This product had everything I was looking for: tablet form, battery powered or plug-in (car or home), and excellent picture and sound. I purchased this portable DVD player, because it not only hangs off the back of your car headrest, but it comes with a slide in leather protection case that makes the process wxtremely quick and easy. It is also great on a plane, because the two headphone jacks allow two people to listen to a movie (2 headphones included), and the since it is a standup unit not a fold up unit, if the person in front of you puts their seatback, it will not affect you at all (when I use my laptop or old portable the screen would be partially closed). This is overall a fantastic unit, and comes with everything you need in one box. Do not settle for the cheaper $69 dollar ones at the grocery store, you will regret it.Customer Review: very nice dvd player

I have ordered 2 of this unit for the purpose of placing them behind the front row seats. Had a minor problem with one of the remote control, which didn't work. Contacted Amazon customer service. They were very prompt with the response. Without any questions, they ordered me another unit and for me to send back the one unit that the remote didn't work. They provided me with the website for me to go ahead and print out the return lable.
The unit is working very well, have had no problems with it. The kids, now enjoy their own movies when we traveled.
