This is an excellent radio and is only sold thru Wal-Mart and Radio Shack's website and ship to the store if you want to buy one over the counter. The Amazon price was $44 and free shipping comnpared to $60+. I have a large collection of old cassettes that exceed 20 yrs. Most are high quality CR02 and Metal and in good shape. This radio sounds excellent with them since they were quality recordings even without the use of a built in EQ. The vendor is an electronics chain out of TN and it still went out on Monday after the state had major flooding including the Nashville area where the Radio was shipped from. I will rate the vendor and the radio at 5 Stars. Amazon keep up the good work with good products, competitive pricing and quality vendors such as this one!!! A++ (-:}Customer Review: Great radio.

I have been using this radio and CD feature and love the big sound and clear sound it gives.
I mostly plug it in, but if you use the batteries, be ready to lug around a big heavy weight.
The cassette feature is OK, but could be better. The radio works well, but it's hard to tell where the stations are. I had to mark them with masking tape to find them. But I go for the quality of the sound and this one is top notch. The buttons for the CD could be a little clearer to read. Most of the time I have to feel my way around to operate them.

I highly recommend anyone try this radio/cd/cassette player. I used it for a family reunion where there was no electricity. The player runs on electricity or batteries and the sound, using batteries, is fantastic. You can also hook up a microphone. It was definitely a good purchase.Customer Review: colby boom box

I really like this boom box. It didn't cost alot and it does everything I like to do when I record with an external microphone. Not to many boomboxes have that feature. My first boom box did but it bit the dust.
