Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Coby CA-747 Dual Position CD/MD/MP3 Cassette Adapter

Customer Review: Worked Great for Me - Get One
Summary: 5 Stars

Used this with my Garmin nuvi 765t GPS on a 4,400 mile trip. It worked perfectly over the entire trip and overcame the problem with the Garmin's virtually useless FM output.

I did NOT have to do the mod to remove one of the rollers to defeat the auto-reverse mechanism (mentioned in many reviews); although, one time I DID have to eject it and reinsert it. That was near the start of the trip and never had to mess with it after that.

Cassette player is the original, factory installed unit in our 2002 Ford Expedition.

Customer Review: ROCKS! Sounds way better than an FM trans. SUPER!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought an $80.00 dollar FM transmitter and it had static everywhere even in the middle of no-----where. I took it back and ordered the coby adapter and it is nice and clear and doesn't rotate sides in the middle of a song like some others have problems with. I use it in a Subaru. At first I thought it didn't sound great but I noticed the volume on my IPOD was all the way up and turned it a little below 3/4 and I was like wow! YES roadtrip time! With another MP3 player full volume actually sounds best so try that if it sounds poorly!

Customer Review: Great Cassatte Adapter.
Summary: 5 Stars

Really great. I used to think COBY is a cheap brand. But I have been using this cassette adapter for almost one year and it's really amazing. Way better than any FM transmitter in the market. I have used like 5 different FM transmitters with my ipod and wasnt satisfied with any of them. My Infiniti comes with Bose sound and at a point I was thinking to spend like 250$ and get an ipod adapter that connects directly to my sound system. Thanks god, before doing that I deceided to give this cassette adapter a try. Good for any mp3 player.

Customer Review: Excellent for XM reception problems
Summary: 5 Stars

I live in Washington, DC, and my XM car radio set up has been consistently problematic in getting good wireless radio reception in the district. I popped the COBY adapter into my cassette player on my Prius and it immediately gave me excellent reception. Furthermore it's easy to pop in and out and looks fine. Furthermore, I can keep all of my other setup for my Panasonic XM to Go (charging and antenna)... meaning that leaving the district I can go back to using the wireless radio capacity. Excellent solution for a few bucks!

Customer Review: Play my mp3s in the car
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a cassette player in my car and wanted to be able to plug my MP3 player into it. This adapter looks like a cassette with a wire coming out of the end. It slides into my car player and when I plug it up to my mp3 player, it plays through the system with no problem. I have not had any trouble from it yet as others have written about. I went on a trip 2 weeks ago and used it for several hours. It worked great. The wire can be changed to come out of the side or the back, depending on which way your auto player is oriented.
