This is the second tape adapter I've bought (the first was crushed by my car) But from my experience I would recommend this tape adapter to anyone. The cord attaches with a special changeable plug so that the tape can be loaded in two orientations(a very ingenious design) The tape provides good sound and doesn't feel flimsy or of weak construction. I had my previous adapter for about a year before I crushed it and I had no complaints. Cons: The cord length is on the short side if you want to extend it more than 3-5 ft. But if you want it for use in a car or close proximity, no problem.Customer Review: Inexpensive but not cheap!

We have an older car with a tape deck. We also have an i-Pod. We own and have used the FM transmitter type adapter for the i-Pod, but the sound quality is not better than your average FM station. We've tried other tape adapters for the i-Pod (Sony, Phillips, Monster Cable), but these were not satisfactory in the end (the Sony kept flipping tape sides, the Phillips did a bit less so, and the Monster had a muddy sound). We just bought the Coby, and the sound and operation thus far excel well beyond all the other brands we've tried. The sound is great and the price cannot be beat.Customer Review: This works as advertised.

I saw other reviews complaining about noise mixed with the audio feed.
The solution to this problem is to set the volume of the audio feed -- say, from an MP3 player -- as high as possible and then start from a low volume with the cassette player.
I did not appreciate "Dual Position" until I got the unit. What this means is that the cable running from the unit can run either to the side of the unit or from the back of the unit. This lets you use the unit in two types of cassette players: top-loading units and side-loading units. Handy!

This item is great. My first one lasted two years and only broke because I got it wedged in my parking break and yanked too hard and messed up the wires. I am re-purchasing because it is a cheap, effective way to listen to an ipod through your tape deck. MY car is ten years old and when its super cold out, sometimes the tape deck keeps spitting the adapter out. My trick is to bang it a few times on something and insert it again. Other than that, the thing is flawless. You'll see other ones on Amazon for much more and the reviewers seem to have issues.Customer Review: Bridging the Gap

I've been using this cassette adapter for two months now and it makes my MP3 player sound as good as the cassette player itself. Be sure to adjust the volume on the player first (too high and it will distort) and then use the cassette player volume to set to your preference and it sounds great. I use it in both GM and Ford type cassette players and it works equally well in both. (follow the simple directions on changing the connection) It's an easy way to bridge the gap between your MP3 player (and other audio devices) and your cassette player.
