Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Coby CA-747 Dual Position CD/MD/MP3 Cassette AdapterCustomer Review: Coby CA-747 Dual Position CD/MD/MP3 Cassette Adapter Summary: 5 Stars
I got this adapter to use with an iPhone 3g. It works very well and definately gets the job done well for the price. The shipping was fast and got here in no time. The tape itself connects to the auxiliary cable through a plug that can be inserted straight in or at a 90 degree angle so it can accommodate both types of tape player. I haven't had any problems as far as having to rewind, or tamper with either the car's tape player or the product itself in order to make it work. The only small complaint I have is that the sound is a tiny bit off but absolutely nothing so noticeable that it makes it a bad purchase. That definately isn't an issue though as I'm sure the quality of the tracks themselves isn't top notch either. Overall its a great product for a cheap price and good alternative to FM transmitters.
Customer Review: Great. Cheap. Works. Summary: 5 Stars
I would agree with the majority of the reviews. I purchased this for my car. I don't have the MP3 connection but do have a tape deck. And I wasn't thrilled with the quality of sound with the FM tuners (my brother has one for his car). There is a little bit of a clicking sound that appears once it starts playing, but with road nose and the general nose of the car, it is a non-issue...can't even hear it. The quality of the sound is not as good as if having a direct MP3 connection, but I consider it very good...(not sure it's even fair to compare). I use this primarily for audio books, and I am very happy with my purchase. I have not had to try the fix that some of the other reviewers had (something about needing to take out a pin on the inside of the cassette).
I would definitely recommend!
Customer Review: Wonderful! And no more interference w/ radio stations! Summary: 5 Stars
I used to use an FM transmitter device with my iPod when in the car. It worked *OK*, but on long trips (and even sometimes around town), I would get interference from local stations and have to hunt for an open band. And the sound quality just wasn't that great.
With the COBY device, that has all changed. The sound quality is much, much better than I ever got with the FM devices (I've tried multiple). The coiled cord extends long enough that I can even have the iPod on the passenger seat if I want to ...and the pigtail cord gets short enough that I can place the iPod on the console in between the seats without the cord dangling all over the place. This is just a simple, well-done device, performing extremely well and a very reasonable price. How can you beat that?
Customer Review: Great Product @ Bargain Price Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this cassette adapter to replace my old one who's cord got ripped in half when stuck in my door. I get better sound out of this one than I did from my other one that I originally bought for more than twice the price.
The best part of this cassette adapter is that the cord is coiled, and can be stretched to be super long (probably at least 8 feet although I have not checked) yet when no tension is applied (during normal use or storage) the cord is only about 3 feet long. This keeps it from getting stuck in things like car doors or wrapped around steering wheels or getting all tangled which my old adapter did.
I am very pleasantly surprised at this adapter. I more than got my money's worth out of it.
Customer Review: Good buy on cassette adapter Summary: 5 Stars
I've seen many negative reviews for cassette adapters. I decided to go on a limb an purchase a cassette adapter.
I've owned this cassette adapter for several months now, and is still working fine. I've forgotten the adapter on my car'e cassette player several times and haven't had any issues. The sound quality is very good. Hissing is only noticeable when the volume is high on the cassette player and low on your portable. Haven't had any issues on the cassette player's auto reverse feature, but I should mention that my cars are late model (2002/2003) and the cassete players are better than most from older vehicles. I think this cassette adapter will hold up for a long time. A definate good buy!
