I bought this CD player for use in a small room (my nursery) to quietly play classical CDs for the babies. It is absolutely perfect for this use. The sound quality is great! I do notice that the sound quality is much better when placed on top of a tall dresser as opposed to a lower object such as an end table - not sure why, but it makes a big difference.
The sound quality is better than my $500 Bose clock radio, but not as good as my $1500 surround system. It is nearly comparable to my car stereo, which is a stock system for an 07 Toyota.
Hopefully these comparisons give you some sort of idea of the sound quality you get for $20. Good luck finding something better for even triple that price!

I bought this for my [...]. The price was right and she needed a cd player so she can jam out in her room whenever she wanted to. She loves the fact that she has her "own" cd player. The sound is great and can be turned up very loud. There are too many flashy features which makes it easy to use and I wouldn't expect there to be too many considering I got it for under [...]. I like that it has the option for batteries to take on the go with you or you can plug it in as well. If you are looking for an inexpensive cd player that can be used in the kitchen while you are cooking or in your child's room for their jam session this is the one for you.Customer Review: I love this radio!

I bought this radio for my baby's room and I really love it! It is the perfect size for her room - I play lullaby cd's at night. It is really easy to use and has just the right amount of features. The sound is great and the cord is a good size too. I haven't tried it with batteries yet, but it seems like it would also be the perfect size to take to the beach or a picnic. I bought this for our little one's 8th birthday. She loves it. Easy to figure out for her, good sound quality, plus a clear FM radio signal. perfect for the price. Her CD's play quickly, and remove easily.
Plus it's lightweight. It plugs in, or can be carried around with batteries.
A GOOD DEAL.
PS. For whatever reason, the shipping was super slow... Amazon usually ships quickly, but this took over 2 weeks to get here. :(

It works - I only just tried it; and the sound is great. There's a voltage button (110 or 220), which works; and it's user friendly. The plug is American, though - although this does not pose a problem, as you can easily obtain a travel plug.
I love its look - to me it's like a tiny extraterrestrial being. It pretty, and the gift was gratefully accepted.
