I own several brands of power inverters. The name Cobra caught my attention cause I also own Cobra CB radios.This inverter works just fine for the applications I'm using.I plugged a 24 watt soldering iron to it and the fan didn't come on, I plugged my Dremel tool and the fan worked.This unit is built with quality. The fall back is the short cables. Overall performance its one of the best.So don't worry if the fan don't come on when you first turn it on just plug a tool that has more wattage.0 to 90 watts use cigarette lighter. I purchased this for tailgating at my Clemson Tigers football games. It works great. It powers a 20" tv and DirecTV satellite box without any complaints. I love it!
I have also used it for road trips to power my laptop. I can't always read in the car and this allows me to watch DVD after DVD in the car without having to spring for more batteries from Dell.
They are right. These things should be built into the standard equipment package of every automobile.

We bought this to allow us to run our son's nebulizer during a recent very long car trip. It performed just fine, however there were two things to note: first the car had to be running in order for it to produce enough electricity (and not beep), second the car plug was a bit finicky and needed to be pushed in a few times, but not a big deal. It was able to run just the nebulizer by itself, which was expected.

The Cobra CPI 450 Dc-toAc Inverter was a very worthwhile investment. We just completed a two week road trip to Chicago from the Dallas area and because of the inverter, any time my father was short of breath, he could use his breathing machine (Nebulizer) for treatments. He was never afraid to leave the hotel...we had power! Worked great not a care to be had. Made for a great road trip.

I like that this came with both a plug for the cigarette lighter and clips to attach directly to the battery -- very versatile. I don't know what else to say about it; it's a power inverter, its ability to invert power met my expectations.
As a point of reference, this inverter will handle the load from a video projector, 50-watt speaker and PlayStation 2 effectively.
