Using this unit, I need not raise the volume of LCD HDTV set to compensate for the slight loss of my high-frequency hearing abilities. It worked fine for about 4 months, then suddenly stopped working. Every time I put on the headset, it worked for a few seconds and then quit. I almost gave up using this product, but a careful re-reading of the (well-written) User Guide led to the solution of my problem.
After each use, I used to drop the headset gingerly (ever so lightly!) into the base. That was a mistake! The small metal contacts on the bottom of the battery installed in the bottom of the headset were not making a firm contact with the two small metal points protruding from the bottom of the pit of the base. Therefore, the battery installed in the headset was not being charged. I managed to reestablish the contact by gently pressing the top of the headset downward. "An LED light will illuminate on the front of the C120 base to confirm the charging has begun," says the User Guide.
There are 9 small red LED lights in front of the base. Eight of them, except the one in the middle, are lit when power is supplied to the base. The 9th light, the center one, illuminates only when the headset battery is in contact with the charger. So, when you drop the headset into the base, make sure the center LED light is on.
With the exception of this nuisance experience, I have been totally satisfied with this product.
