Customer Review: Best Mount That You Can Buy For The Price. Just don't rely on the built in level.

I purchased this mount for my new 40" LCD Television. The mount arrived in two days, and the box was in excellent condition.
Here are the steps that I took to
1. Screwed the two vertical brackets into the horizontal cross pieces. I then tested the accuracy of the built in level. The level was not accurate, and was actually about six degrees off (according to my iPhone digital level, and my carpenters level).
2. Screwed the tilting brackets into the back of my Television. My T.V. a 40" Dynex LCD T.V. has the connections in a poor location. My model of T.V. would either require a Component Cable with banana plugs on it, or the use of the included adapter brackets (included with the T.V. not the mount). I removed the Cheetah Brackets from my T.V. and then installed the adapter bracket. The bracket adapter is designed for use with 200x200mm brackets, the sliding design of the Cheetah Mount allows the mount to be used in this configuration or the 400x200mm bracket.
3. Used a stud finder to locate the studs in my wall. I made pencil lines on the wall where the studs were located. Because of a the design of my house, the studs were not located 16" apart. However the holes located in the bracket allow for stud spacing of any size. I then used the included 1/2" lag bolts and my power drill with a hex head bit to screw the bracket into the wall. When I did this I screwed the top left screw in first, placed my level on top of the mount and then screwed the remaining three lag bolts into the wall. I then gave the mount a very hard tug to ensure that the mount was properly seated.
4. The T.V. was then slid over the top of the mount and rotated downward into position. I then centered the T.V. by sliding it to a position where it was centered over my dresser. I connected all of the cables to the T.V. and turned it on to ensure that it was tilted to the appropriate viewing angle.
5. The final step was to screw the bottom screws on the mount into position. To do this I used a long #2 Phillips head screw driver. This is to prevent the T.V. from being lifted up and off of the mount. It does not totally prevent side to side movement (which would also make the T.V. come off of the mount, but makes it next to impossible to accidentally slide it off.
To make a clean installation with zero exposed wires I installed an electrical outlet behind the T.V. (I installed it after the mount was in place to ensure that it would be covered by the mount. I also installed Datacomm Electronics 45-0002-IV Gang Recessed Cable Plate (Ivory) behind the T.V. and behind my dresser (where my Blu-Ray Player and Cable Box are located). To install the plates you'll need to use a Dual Gang Low Voltage Mounting Bracket behind each plate, as a regular blue box electrical box will not work (plus you couldn't run the wires through it.
The mount is VERY STRONG AND STABLE. The only negative about it is the inaccurate built in bubble level. For the money though it can not be beat and I would give it a 4.5 out of 5.
