Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Cheetah Mounts Plasma LCD Flat Screen TV Articulating Full Motion Dual Arm Wall Mount Bracket For 32-65" Displays Up To 165LBS Black With 10' High Speed HDMI Cable With Ethernet Fits Up To 24" StudsCustomer Review: Well Worth It Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this to mount my 42" Plasma. The mount itself is extremely sturdy, and well built. As some of the reviewers have stated the arms can be a little stiff (slightly more difficult for my girlfriend, she petite). After a period of time the articulating arms have loosened up enough where it's quite smooth. I plan on purchasing another for my brother's birthday. The directions could be slightly more specific. I would suggest having a second person to assist in the installation(although I was so excited I couldn't wait for anyone). Make sure to Lag screw it to the studs. I paid $69, it was well worth it. My only complaints were that the mounting plate itself should probably be slightly longer,(approximately 24") it's actually 19 3/4", for specific mounting applications. Like studs that are spaced more than 20" apart, or more particular centering needs, but where the T.V. mounts to arms is adjustable left and right. I would have liked to have a positive stop where the T.V. meets the arms there are Allen screws that stop the T.V. sliding from left and right. A slightly larger knob for the television tilt as well. If you are at all mechanically inclined installation won't be a problem at all. Overall GREAT PRODUCT for the money and would recommend the Cheetah Mount it to anyone.
Customer Review: Cheetah Mounts APDAM2B Plasma LCD Flat Screen TV Articulating Full Motion Dual Arm Wall Mount Bracket for 32 to 55-Inch Displays Summary: 5 Stars
This is a sturdy mount that included everything needed to mount my LG 50PK750 Plasma television to our sheetrocked, 16" on center stud wall. To attach the mounting brackets to the television, I had to utilize the included 8mm plastic spacers, screws, lock and flat washers due to the recessed mounting holes on the LG. After locating the wall studs with a Zircon Studsensor Pro, the mounting holes were aligned and marked using a level (not the included level) and a 3/16" drill bit was used for the pilot holes in the studs/wall. Attaching the mount to the wall may be a two person job, but I was able to extend the mount and rest it on my shoulder while I screwed in the supplied lag bolts with a 1/4" drive ratchet and socket (1/2"). The total installation took me about 30 minutes, but I'm sure someone could easily complete this job in a shorter amount of time. After mounting, the gap between the rear of the television and the wall was about 6 inches. I might go for a flatter mount, one that does not protrude so far from the wall, but this will do for now.
I have not tried to extend the mount with the television installed, but the tilt feature seems to work fine. Make sure you secure the television with tightening the Allen head bolts before attempting any extension or tilt.
Customer Review: Easy to install. Summary: 5 Stars
If you can use tools and have common scene you shouldn't have a problem installing this wall mount. It helps if you have someone to hold it when installing the lags but if not.....it can be done. The most important thing (obviously) is finding the center of the studs. Once that is done just decide what height you want the TV at and pre-drill the lags. I suggest using painters tape to mark the location of you studs. Use a good quality stud finder or the "finish nail and hammer" trick, to find the center of the stud. Then measure over 16" and there should be the center of the next stud. Then use some 1½" wide tape (width of a stud), level up for the top hole and pre-drill. I will be probably be taking it down and recessing it after the holidays. I bought a 55" Sony 3D last week and I just had to get it on the wall ASAP.
As far as the quality of the wall mount.....better than expected. Its construction is very solid, (and heavy). If you are doing your homework and reading lots of comments like I do when purchasing something like this wall mount, trust me......this will go down as one of the good purchases.
Customer Review: Great Product Summary: 5 Stars
This wall mount is constructed of high quality materials. Fortunately, the wall was blocked between studs so I had no diffuculty in mounting the unit to the wall. And the lag bolts provided were quite adequate for the job. Once secured to the wall, the unit is stable without any play between the hinged joints. The set screws were adequate to secure the TV rail to the wall rail. The unit swivels from side to side very well. My only negative comments deal with the fact that the two sets of M6 screws provided to secure the mount to the rear of the Vizio TV were too long in once case; the other set (about one half inch long) was almost too short as they only screwed into the TV about one-eight inch. So I replaced them with 3/4 inch screws. I threw away the 6-inch level that came with the unit because it was not accurate. The hinged joints were so tight that it was difficult to move the TV around. A shot of silicone spray to each joint solved the problem. Overall, if you want an articulating wall mount, you can't go wrong with this unit. The price is right, and the unit even arrived two days before the schuled day.
Customer Review: Excellent Value Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this wall mount to hang a 42" LCD TV (weighing about 35 lbs). As usual, I read the Amazon.com reviews on several mounts before choosing the Cheetah.
Excellent choice. Other mounts may be equally as good, but this one is clearly an excellent value. The product description is dead-on, and all required mounting hardware is included. Construction is robust. Instructions are clear.
I did deviate from the instructions, which call for the mount to be attached to two studs. Unfortunately, the only wall space I had available was between two sliding doors -- with one stud directly in the center. Consequently, I ended up attaching the mount to that stud using two longer lag screws (purchased at a hardware store) through the center of the mount into the stud. (For added insurance I also used the included toggle bolts at the corners of the mount). Given the relatively light weight of the LCD TV, I am confident the mount is more than adequately secured.
I was able to do the job easily by myself in less than an hour. Very happy with the way it works.
