Customer Review: Best mount ever--with a little dumb luck

I could not be happier with this stand. The overall appearance is clean and strong. Once installed the mount could easily support my 40 inch LCD and more--I was pulling on the arms to test its strength after my TV was mounted. An included safety bar keeps the TV in place and secure. The duel actuating arms give you the freedom to easily point your display in a wide degree of viewing angles. Being able to pull it away form the wall made it great for accessing the cable in back. Very simple install, came with all the neccissary hardware and additional pieces.
Where the dumb luck comes into play:
With the help of a friend I was able to measure, drill, and mount in about 40 minutes. But as hard as we tried to get the drilled holes and base of the mount level, our work was slightly off. Even though the base would be on an angle, we continued to attach the mount and later the LCD. Sure enough the display was PERFECTLY level. It was dumb luck that the stand was not manufactured perfectly level and the hardware made up for our drilling error. Had the two of us successfully installed the base of the mount level, the display would have been tilted.
Overall the stand looks great, is very strong, secure, and allows for easy adjustment of the direction and angle. The only thing you have to look our for is making sure everything is level, not just your drilling, but the mount itself. A+, but I did get lucky.

I searched many sites for a heavy duty TV wall mount for my 55" LG LCD. I looked at the mounts at the retail stores - Walmart, Target & Best Buy. None of them had the tilt/swivel option I wanted and seemed too light weight for my 90lb TV. But, most of all they seemed way too expensive! I decided on the Cheetah Mount APDAM2B as it seemed to fit the bill - being able to handle up to 165lbs and was relatively cheap. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised by its heavy duty design.. The instructions were easy to follow. Tons of extra screws and washers for most any TVs, except mine! I had to buy screws because the ones on my TV were too short ( I bought stainless) to attach the tilting brackets to the back of the TV. The swiveling wall mount is very heavy and I needed a second set of hands to mark and level it to the wall. This two piece setup works great though. The two of us lifted and hooked the TV brackets to the wall mount's channel and centered the TV. It not only held the TV and the weight of the mount - about 130lbs altogether - I felt it could easily have held the whole 165lbs. The hinges are quite tight and it takes quite a bit of strength to swivel left or right and pull it away from the wall. This makes cleaning or attaching anything behind the TV a breeze. I am very satisfied and would recommend this to any one willing and able to handle it's heft. However, installation will require at least two people.Customer Review: Perfect? I bought this mount for my Samsung HP-S4253 42-Inch Plasma HDTV. After reading a number of the reviews, I would have to agree with a lot of people's take on this mount. The bracket is tight to move around and it does sag a little when you swing the TV out to one side. But to me neither of these were deal breakers. I want the TV to stay put so I have no issue if it takes a little more effort to move around, it is far from a workout but it does take some effort. As for the sag, we only use it in that position while we eat dinner as a family, it's not like we are showing off the house. The mount isn't giving way, it is just the two arm design that lowers one side more than the other.
That being said, this thing is ROCK SOLID. The mount itself is heavy, but it is extremely heavy duty. I had a bit of a special installation as I had to make a metal bracket to go inside an opening in the wall that was a built in entertainment center. It worked out great. It has a great range of motion and I can even pull it forward and store things in the old entertainment center like DVDs. I did not have any of the issues that other's mentioned with the tension knobs for the tilt mechanism.
I don't know how this compares against the $300 models, they might even have similar challenges. But for an articulating wall mount of this quality at this price it's unbeatable.

I was very pleased with the quality and construction of this and had to write a review for others ... since the reviews on Amazon helped me decide what to buy. After searching the brick and mortar stores (ie Best Buy, Walmart) ... I couldn't believe how outrageous the prices were for the articulating wall mounts ($250-$333). My 42" Philips TV was on sale for only $500. Why pay more than half price for a wall mount? So I went searching and once again Amazon did not disappoint! One third of the price!
After I measured and placed this mount on the wall, I was very happy at the construction and frankly, just the sheer weight of the thing left me smiling. It went in smooth and easy and hangs very sturdy on the wall (in the studs). It has PLENTY of adjustments for TV's. There are so many different holes and settings on this mount that I can't imagine or understand how anybody could have leveling problems. Even if you hang the mount incorrectly there are right and left tilt knobs to correct the level. I actually took my TV down and readjusted and it's been fine since the adjusted setting (3 weeks ago).
All in all, this is a fantastic, heavy duty, tough, well constructed piece of equipment and I will definitely be purchasing this brand again if I have the need.

Bought this mount for a Samsung LN46A750 46-Inch 1080p DLNA LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color also purchased at Amazon.
I was impressed with the sheer weight of this mount as it weighs nearly as much as the TV I mounted to it. It left me with the impression it could hold what it claims (165 lbs.). I weigh around 260 lbs. and leaned heavily on the empty mount after I put it on the wall (before attaching TV) and it didn't budge.
Its appearance is somewhat stylish for what it is. I have it tilted out fairly well so there is quite a bit showing to any who enter the room, yet it blends w/ the back of the TV and looks professional.
The instructions were a bit flaky, but it got the point across as I was able to mount it and this was the first time I have installed a wall mount. Although, I do consider myself fairly intelligent and do DIY stuff all the time so I'm not new to such things.
The range of movement is awesome...this thing will move any which way you try and with a fair amount of ease. I didn't mess with any "settings" as the instructions didn't say much about any of the levers on it. It did what I wanted by default.
Altogether a good buy and I recommend this mount to anyone.
