Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Cheetah Mounts Plasma LCD Flat Screen TV Articulating Full Motion Dual Arm Wall Mount Bracket For 32-65" Displays Up To 165LBS Black With 10' High Speed HDMI Cable With Ethernet Fits Up To 24" StudsCustomer Review: Just perfect! Summary: 5 Stars
I did some serious shopping for this before purchasing, as I typically do with most purchases. I have to say, I could not be more satisfied with this product. It is heavy and sturdy, my tv (42" LG LCD) does not tilt at all, and it looks great on my wall. It took me and a helper about 2 hours to mount, mostly because I was very precise about the measurements and running my cables behind the wall. The directions were pretty much unnecessary, and there was plenty of hardware included to make it fit a variety of tvs or wall types. I secured it into typical 16" spaced studs, and it feels ultra-secure. I have no worries that this will stay secure on my wall for years to come, and allow me to upgrade to a larger tv, should I choose to do so. The articulating swivel works perfect in both directions, and I cannot see any noticeable sag. Awesome.
Minor complaint that the wing nuts included to allow for final adjustment of leveling the tv all snapped when I tried to adjust them. Very cheap hardware, but just on those few wing-nuts. I replaced them with standard nuts and bolts I had laying around and it was no problem.
Also, this mount, because of the double-arms, will sit out from your wall about 4 inches. I don't mind it, but it may not be as flush as some customers are looking for. Just be aware if that's an issue for you.
All-in-all, I am in love with this mount. I bought it when it was $68, and considered that an absolutely killer deal. Now they're $53??? Unbelievable. Believe me when I say that the cost does not indicate a cheaply built product...this thing is a beast. I wish I had the need to buy another one! I would definitely recommend Cheetah mounts to anyone who is in the market!
Customer Review: Easy to install and works as advertised Summary: 5 Stars
The mount was shipped the day after I ordered it and arrived promptly. It weighed 30+ pounds, but was packaged so it wasn't damaged in shipping. The installation manual was easy to read and understand. I installed it and connected the TV to it by myself using a pencil, stud finder, drill, screwdriver and ratcheting socket wrench. It took me almost exactly two hours including gathering the tools and putting them away after the job. The hardest part was lifting it and holding it while marking the holes for the screws by myself (an extra person to hold the 30 pounds of steel would have been helpful for that step).
The product itself was very well built and super convenient. The best part of it is the multiple slots you use to mount it to the wall. I've had one other TV wall mount and it was screwed into just one stud with two screws and no adjustments. That meant that the TV had to be mounted wherever your studs happen to be. This mount can be moved around on the studs so that you can mount it where you want, which was great for me, since I had a limited amount of space to put the TV in so it had to go in the middle of two studs, which this worked great for. Other than the convenience of the mounting plate, the rest of it was straightforward and well built. They even have three different diameters of screws in two different lengths each to attach your TV to the mount. I can't imagine a TV this mount wouldn't work for right out of the box. I used it to mount a 37 inch Panasonic LCD TV and it's working great with no sag. It's also so thin when pushed all the way against the wall that I'd recommend it even if you don't need to rotate or tilt your TV, although it would be a bit overkill for that.
Customer Review: You can pay more.... Summary: 5 Stars
Purchased this mount to use with a 52" Samsung that weighs in at about 100 pounds. I wanted a mount that would allow me to move the TV out and adjust the angle when there were guests watching and still allow me to get it close in when not extended. I mounted it in a recessed area so I was able to build a support wall and used 6 lag screws for mounting plate. When mounting to the wall, just make sure the mounting plate is level. There is an included bubble level on the mounting plate that is useless as it can be easily moved. Use a quality level on your mounting plate and you'll be in business. All kinds of hardware and spacers are included with the mount so there was no trouble finding the right combination to mount my TV to the mount. When the mounting hardware is secured to the TV, you simply slip it over the top of the front plate and secure a couple of set screws. Piece of cake.
This mount works great. It holds the TV securely even when fully extended (21") and adjusts to just about any angle you can imagine. To tilt from front to back, you do need to make an adjustment with hand wheels for that purpose. It will probably be a one time adjustment depending on your location. When you extend the TV and turn it, it will tilt to one side as mentioned in other reviews. The unit has a friction plate on the mount so a slight nudge and you're back level again. They even include a small torpedo level for this operation. I had tightened this plate in a level position and quickly found out why it is supposed to be only snug.
You can pay four times this price, but probably won't get something that will work much better. Highly recommended.

I've been looking for a mount to hold a 46" LCD TV in an alcove space that's about 6" deep and 50" wide. The Cheetah APDAM2B, as it's listed on Amazon, has great reviews and is priced well. The scissor-type arms are perfect for the alcove as opposed to the type that swings around for the extension. My preliminary questions, e.g. can this be mounted on a brick wall?, do they have known installation services in my area?, what is the difference between the APDAM3B listed on their website and the APDAM2B listed on Amazon? were addressed completely. They also emailed me a manual in advance to be sure that the specs fit my needs. Kudos to Cheetah, thank you for providing Excellent Customer Service.
Q & A's:
Install on a brick wall - Yes, same as masonry. Another reviewer suggested replacing the included hardware with different style bolts.
Installation services - They don't have a nationwide listing, however, they have known vendors in Philadelphia and Las Vegas
APDAM2B vs. APDAM3B - The APDAM3B is the current model and the one that will be sent by Amazon. The Amazon listing hasn't been updated as yet.
Now I'm off to find an installer in Chicago who knows what they're doing and doesn't charge an articulating arm and leg to do the work. Wish me luck!
Customer Review: Satisfied Summary: 5 Stars
Just installed for a 46" Samsung LED and it looks really nice. The unit is build solid, parts are nice and heavy and I have no worries that it'll support the TV. It was fairly easy to install as long as you are mounting it into studs (need a studfinder) and have a socket wrench and a drill with drillbits. The instructions also have an easy way to exactly find the center of a stud if you don't trust your studfinder (The CH Hanson 03040 STUD4SURE Magnetic Stud Finder is the best and cheap!). You'll also need someone to hold the base up against the wall so you can screw it into the wall. Also, even if you mount it slightly unlevel, the plate that goes into the TV can rotate so you can adjust after mounting to ensure the TV is level. After I put it up, I hung on it (I'm 150lbs) and it didn't even sag at all so I'm sure it goes up to and beyond the 165lb weight limit. Its a fairly snug fit to the wall when completely pushed in (about 4.5") but obviously don't buy if you want the TV to be really snug with the wall.
When fully extended, there's no sag like others have said...they may need to tighten the bolts a little. However, I did find like other reviewers that its a little hard to pull the TV out easily. I added a little oil to the arm extenders that made it a little easier and I figure it needs some time to loosen up a bit. If that doesn't work I may try loosening the arm extender bolts slightly to see if that works, as long as there is no sag to the TV.
Overall, a great buy I definitely recommend. Don't go buy a $300 - $600 TV mount - that's just a waste of money.
