I purchased this product after reading several reviews and looking at other far more expensive mounts. Mine holds a 52" Sharp LCD. The other reviewers are correct about the mount being made for 16" inch spacing. I was able to overcome this issue by spanning the length between studs with plywood.
My TV is mounted in the center of a 77" wall space. I used a 3/4" piece of cabinet grade plywood cut 16" wide that spans the entire 77". I screwed this into the wall studs all along the wall. Before hanging the mount I sanded then painted the plywood the same color as the wall. With the mount centered in the wall I used the included bolts where I was able to hit a stud and used 1/4" X 3" toggle bolts in the area where I was not able to find a stud. With the TV on the mount you don't notice the plywood at all.

A high quality mount for a very reasonable price. Easy to install despite the instructions which are, quite honestly, a waste of paper. Plenty of hardware included for just about any type of installation you may encounter, including concrete. The hardware is packaged in separate sleeves and each sleeve is lettered. The downside - those letters don't match up to the aforementioned instruction sheet. Anyway, with just a minimal amount of ability this is quite simple to install and I was able to do it alone, including the final step of attaching of the 46" LED TV once the mount was on the wall. I'd recommend two people, however, to do that final step. Once the mount was attached to the studs the mount supported even my weight; no small feat, indeed! This is my first flat panel TV however my next mount will be a Cheetah, as well.Customer Review: Great mount. Improved hardware.

This is a great mount. Very sturdy. Easy installation. After reading feedback regarding the included hardware, I purchased some lag screws from my local home improvement store. I would recommend doing this, as I can see how the heads of the included lag screws could pop off with a little torque. I also had to buy some M8 screws that were a little longer than the ones included. The hardware for the tilt mechanism must have been upgraded, I had no issues. Instead of the brittle butterfly nuts previously referenced, the hardware kit include carriage bolts with durable plastic knobs for easy hand tightening. There was a slight bit of play in the articluting arms, however, I was able to compensate for this because the mounting plate that connects to the televison can also be adjusted to level.Customer Review: great mount for the price

When I ordered this mount, the price was listed at $60. This really beats the hell out of any deal you would find locally. When I looked for wallmounts at bestbuy or walmart with similar features, the prices were outrageous. So far, I have had no significant issues with the mount. The quality of construction is pretty good. I read other reviews about how the vertical tilt adjustment knobs were too weak to support large tv's, but I have a 47" vizio, and they seem to work fine. However, looking at the spec sheet for the tv, it only weighs 43 lbs. There were several reviews I read where people were trying to exceed the weight limit on the mount, then complaining that the operation of the features became difficult. Very heavy and well constructed. The scissor mount allows for the TV to extend out and tilt left and right 30 degrees giving great flexibility in mounting and arrangement. The mount is designed to traverse 16" on center studs but for the 42" tv, I mounted it on a single stud with 3 lag bolts, supplied, works fine. When pushed flat against the wall, the back of the TV will project out 4" due to the scissor mounting mechanism, i.e. if you want something that mounts as flat as possible, you would do better with other mounting designs. I like being able to pull it out from the wall so that I can see all the rca/hdmi jacks as I plug them in. For the amazon price of about $80, this is a great value, half the price of anything similar you can find at retail/AV stores.
