Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Streamzap PC Remote ControlCustomer Review: The perfect remote for MythTV Summary: 5 Stars
We've tried several PC remotes before: the remote that comes with the Hauppauge PVR-350 capture card, and the ATI Remote Wonder II. The Streamzap PC remote beats both of these easily. It has excellent range and sensitivity, a sleek receiver, and excellent support for Linux using LIRC. We use it with a MythTV frontend, and we purchased a second remote for an additional frontend.
Highly recommended.
Customer Review: Linux Summary: 5 Stars
Been using this for well over a year with MythTV on Linux as well as XBMC.
Remote works flawlessly /w lirc.
The one issue I have is that the receiver is subject to electronic interference.
Now this is just a sign of poor shielding and nothing to be terribly worried about.
I really only time I've any problems is the first 30 seconds after turning on my LCD tv.
After this time has passed the interference is gone and everything works again.
Customer Review: Great for MythTV based HTPC Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this remote to use to control my MythTV on Linux. It is very well supported by lirc and configuration for the remote is included with recent packages. The remote feels a little light but I'm very happy with it. It has a good number of buttons, the four color coded buttons at the bottom directly reflect functionality in MythTV. If anyone is looking for a good remote to use for a Linux based HTPC, I can highly recommend this one.
Customer Review: Great Support Team Summary: 5 Stars
I had some problems with the installation. The Remote Receiver would fail from time to time and I would have to reload the software. I contacted the Streamzap Support team and they immediately sent a replacement Remote Receiver. The product works perfectly, adds a whole new dimension to my "Entertainment Center" PC, and I am very pleased about the support that I received. I recommend this product to anyone!
Customer Review: Nice remote ! Summary: 5 Stars
Worked right out o fhe box with my ubuntu (mytybuntu). (Never tried windows compatibility.)
Like it a lot, works for everything that I need it for with my system.
(One little thing: They could place the buttons different, so it would not slide off my couch/chair/armrest all the time when I rest it upside-down.)
Can only recommend.
