I just got my StreamZap PC Remote in the mail a few weeks ago, and gave it to my girlfriend as an early Christmas present and she absolutely loved it!!! The design it really pretty cool and it works really well. The range is good enough to where you can be on the opposite side of the room and control the music perfectly. This remote control would make the perfect gift for anyone who has alot of MP3's on their computer and loves listening to music. The computer it is being run on is about 3 years old and has Windows XP. The installation went perfectly, and it was ready to use right away. One important thing is that if you do buy this, be sure to also buy AAA batteries, because they don't come with it.Customer Review: Wow--This is awsome!

I love my Streamzap PC Remote! It is very cool. I can change the channel on my TV Tuner card, controll my Powerpoint Presentations from across the room, controll my media player and so much more. This works wonderfully! I have mine for about 9 months now and have not had any problems. It is truly wonderful. It solves many problems and allows me to "be at my computer" without actually "being at my computer". It even lets you use the directional keys to move your cursor around the screen and use it like a mouse which is very cool aswell! All in all a great product!Customer Review: Excellent Remote

This is an excellent remote for an excellent price. I have a stereo system in my basement attached to a computer which uses Foobar2000 to play music. Before this remote, I always had to walk up to the computer and use the mouse to change songs, adjust the volume, pause songs, or shutdown the computer; this remote changed that and now I am able to change the songs from anywhere in my (large) basement. The software is easy to configure and the macro buttons make life much easier. This remote is an excellent addition to any media setup.Customer Review: Great remote for your ATI PC tuner card!!!

This remote is great for those of you with the ATI tuner cards! The remote ATI features is nowhere in the same league as this remote. It has 4 different preset "hot buttons" that will launch the programs you want from a distance. I see FAR more features than the Mfr. supplied remote. I love it! You can just sit back in your recliner and fast forward through the commercials of recorded programs, you no longer have to sit in front of the PC to do it anymore! Highly recommended! This is simply the best supported remote on Linux, pretty much any software project that allows the use of a remote will have at least the streamzap supported out of the box.
Apart from that it's also incredible value for money, just consider that building your own IR receiver would probably set you back 30$ just in parts. And that's without the remote.
Also note that you can use any IR remote you want with the included receiver, in case you've got your eye on a regular universal remote.
