This unit worked for my old garage door made in 1992 by sears craftsman. It worked the very first time and the instructions are fairly easy to follow. Just figure out what type your unit is (mine was type 3) and then follow the step-by-step instructions.
It comes with 2 screws to mount it in the wall and the case seems pretty durable and fairly weatherproof. The backlight is nice and bright red. It even includes a 9V battery. Highly recommended!

This remote was extremely easy to install and will work with many makes and models of garage door openers. I live in a condo with a detached garage and this unit saves me a lot of trouble by allowing me to leave my handheld remote in my car while still being able to close the garage from the outside. Here in SoCal we din't get much rain, but the unit seems to be constructed well enough to keep moisture out of the electronics. Much easier and faster to program than the Homelink system on my car. Took about 3 min. to program. FYI, I have a Wayne Dalton garage door from 2006. Install took longer since I had to find my drill and drill bits and screwdriver, maybe 25 min. Wish I'd bought this when I first moved into my house.
Only gripe is that it's hard to slide the cover off the opener until it is mounted to a wall -- took a LOT of force to get cover off.

I just recently moved, and I purchased this item because I couldn't find a spot to hide a spear key outside in which my neighbors wouldn't see me get it. This was the perfect solution! Now, I can go for walks/hikes and not have to carry my keys and when family visits, I can give them the code if I'm not home already. The item was fairly easy to install. I would definitely recommend this item, although I've only had it for around 1 month.Customer Review: Works as advertised. Nice product.

The seller actually mentioned that it is compatible with "Overhead Door CodeDodger - 2005 to Present". My garage door is older (2000) and it works just fine. After I did some research, I believe the description should be, it is compatible with "Overhead Door CodeDodger 1995 to Present".

Installation - 5 mins.
