I needed this adaptor because ever since I bought a nice size case for my iPhone 4, my trucks auxillary out cable would not fit into the jack all the way because of the case. The slim male jack and the fat female jack solved this issue perfectly. All for the cost of a 20 oz bottle of soda from the gas station, with free shipping. How could you go wrong?? No hassle, plug and play, simple adapter for iPhone's off market earphones/headphones. Yes you probably can cut and slice your off market headphone connector to fit the iPhone's smaller recessed earphone plug but for couple of bucks why bother? Cost is almost negligible and this item works well. Gives you better flexibility in using all the other headphones you have in your inventory: i.e. a regular audiophile will have more than one I suppose! Product works as advertised and I think is better than the rigid adapter cables sold by others. The price on these was good so I keep several of them around in car, gym bag etc. One of the annoying aspects of the 1st Generation iPhone is the recessed phone jack. This particular model fits snugly in the recessed port and does not come loose. The Amazon partner delivered the product as ordered promptly.Customer Review: Works Great!

Adapter works great with the different headphones that I have. Unlike the picture, this adapter actually supports stereo + microphone in case you have a stereo + microphone headset that you want to plug in there. I didn't find this useful since I didn't such a set to test out and if I did, I would get one that was already iPhone compatible.Customer Review: An unfortunate necessity

I really love Apple products, but I think they had a brain fart on the iPhone when it came to the head phone jack. Sure it looks nice but it renders all other head phones useless with it until you get this little adaptor. As I said before, it's unfortunate that this thing is needed, but it's great to have if you own and iPhone.
