I purchased this case for a 7inch portable dvd player. it is great as far as space is concerned. Many of the other cases I looked at were far too large for the smaller units, and I was concerned that the player would move around too much.
This fits my needs perfectly. There is enough extra storage to carry around all the accessories that the player came with(car adapter, charger, battery, etc), a the straps to hook it to the back of the front seat. I also found that the extra compartment(for another player, if needed), works great to hold dvd(in cases, as I don't want them scratched). It holds about 4 dvds; or two, slim season box sets.
