My god I wish I had purchased these AGES ago. The convenience factor is absolutely incredible!
For those of you who are reporting that they break easily, that's probably because you didn't read the directions! Admittedly, they are a tiny piece of paper in between the cardboard (which at first I didn't realize there was space in between), so it's very easy to miss.
But anyway, the trick with these is to NEVER pull one side at a time. You MUST pull BOTH ends at the same time, and that's both when expanding the cord and when putting it back. Also when putting the cord back, retract both sides at the same speed. You have to keep both ends equal and the wires must be flat.
I've had these for over a month so far and have had zero problems whatsoever. If they break, it's most likely user error. Pay attention to my instructions and you won't have any problems.
The only cons I have are that A) the bulk in the middle is sometimes annoying, but that's just how the headphones work (that's where the retractable area is). The clip takes away the concern, but it still looks bad depending on what you are wearing. And B) the wire is starting to not be flat, so I have to ensure it is flat before retracting the wires to avoid issues. (Admittedly, I listen to podcasts almost exclusively, so I'll leave music sound quality for someone else to write about.)
Anyway, I absolutely love these headphones and use them everyday. I might even purchase a second pair. For the price and convenience factor, it's great!
