I compared using this cable with an actual HDMI cable when hooking up my Playstation. The pure HDMI has a very subtle improved picture to the DVI/HDMI, but I had heard that this occurs from other online info. So with that said for the price I payed for this cable it is well worth the money and don't pay the ridiculous price tag for more expensive cables!!!Customer Review: does the job

Great price and works as advertised. We use this cable with our SONY Bravia 40 inch HDTV and it works fine. We have used it to go from the TV to the Comcast cable box as well as from our Mac mini computer to the TV. There is no need to pay ten times as much for other name brand cables. This DVI-D cable fits the DVI-I out on my PowerMac G5 as designed, and my 24" monitor renders it as 1080i. It's exactly what I needed.
You'll need to find another route for sound production. Obviously, an HDMI cable is designed to carry audio and video, but since DVI carries only video there is no audio feed into the HDMI port on the monitor.

I bought this cable because I have an upscaling DVD player and my HDTV only has DVI input. Well, I will just say that the cable does exactly what it's supposed to, the upscaling works great now, and my DVDs look amazing at 720p! Super happy with the product, and super disgusted at the retail stores that try to charge you $50 for the exact same thing!!!Customer Review: Wonderful picture quality!

I used this to connect my PS3 console to my HDTV. I didn't have an HDMI input on my television and the best output on PS3 is HDMI. However, since I have a DVI input on my TV this is perfect!
If you plan to use this on a PS3 like me, know that you will need to change your output to HDMI using your current cable and then switch them out.
