Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Cables Unlimited 6-Foot HDMI Male to Male Cable (PCM-2295-06)Customer Review: Works Great at a Fraction of the Price Summary: 5 Stars
Okay, admit it you are concerned about buying a cable THIS much cheaper than the name brand products and the recommendation of others. I was too until I opened the package and plugged it in to my new Sony DVD Player (Sony DVPNC85H/B 5-Disc HDMI Progressive Scan DVD, EXCELLENT PRODUCT by the way).
The upconversion was recognized (at 720p and 1080i), the picture is crystal clear and my movies look stunning on my 73" Mitsubishi DLP. Save your money, this cable is more than acceptable. Any improvement for the $60+ would likely be unnoticeable to the human eye.
Customer Review: Don't be fooled by EXPENSIVE CABLES Summary: 5 Stars
Digital signals unlike older analog and prior types were subject to interference and snowy picture. Digital is Binary (011010, etc) so its different in that either you get a signal or you do not. You don't need $79 HDMI cable at all because it is wrapped 10x and gas injected tubing and blah blah.
Point is I use this to hook my Samsung Blu-ray Player to my LED (not LCD), brand new Samsung and people freak out when they see the picture clarity. It looks like a window into a movie using a $10 dollar cable. That's marketing for ya of the expensive ones.
Customer Review: HDMI is HDMI... Summary: 5 Stars
HDMI cable manufacturers, especially when this format just came out, were big on charging megabucks for what amounted to a cheap, one off. This is still pervasive today. I probably can't mention specific manufacturers here, but Cables Unlimited is just as good as the big name, top dollar brands. People seem to forget that with digital, the signal either gets to the TV or it doesn't, there is no in between, no subtle shades of grey that a "high quality" cable can correct. As long as it has adequate shielding and gold plated connections, you're good to go.
Customer Review: I'm so glad I bought this cable. Summary: 5 Stars
I always heard that all HDMI cables are the same, but that's not exactly true. I would never buy a $80 or even $50 brand, but I wouldn't buy the $2 or $0.15 cables either. I used a cheap cable that someone gave me and it made some popping and crackling sounds and the TV went on the fritz for about a half second whenever it would change between resolutions. And sometimes the sound would go out.
But then I bought this Cables Unlimited HDMI and it is flawless (and MUCH thicker than the previous cable I tried). I am a very satisfied customer.
Customer Review: You can get quality, even cheap. Summary: 5 Stars
I got this cable recently, but I had to wait for my other purchase to get in to use it. (I bought it for my new media player).
The cable itself is study and feels like it was quality built, and when I used it with the media player, there were no issues at all. It works just fine, moving the unit or the wire has no effect on the picture.
So as of now I have no complaints, and if anything happens I will update this review, but as it stands now, for the cheap price, this is definitely worth getting over those expensive brands.
