As someone who has worked in the electronics business, I never could understand why anyone would pay $60+ for any digital cable. You are only making a short connection and digital either works or it doesn't.
There isn't any degradation over such short distances.
So do yourself a favor and invest the three bucks + shipping and buy a new DVD player with the savings. In fact, I should be buying these and reselling them at 300% markup outside my local Circuit City.
Buy these cables and brag to your friends how smart you are, (and how gullible they are.)

i bought two. one to go from tv to upscaling dvd player, one from tv to dish network. (and as my stereo receiver doesn't have any hdmi, i'm using an optical digital cable from tv to stereo receiver). in a nutshell, it all looks and sounds great. i really don't know why anyone would spend their (presumably) hard-earned money on a more expensive cable.
one thing you might want to know-- the two i ordered (at the same time and to the same address) shipped separately. the cables were like 15 cents (15 cents!) apiece, and the shipping was about five bucks apiece. not a bad loss.

The reality is that you don't need to buy an overpriced $80 cable to get a good HDMI connection. I've used two of these cables in my home setup and they work perfectly. I have my DVR cable box combo and PS3 hooked up using these cables and they work great. I do not feel there were any deficiencies in their design or durability. The connections feel solid and I can't see them breaking under normal use. Buying anything more expensive is a huge waste of money and only supports companies looking to fleece consumers with wild claims on what is an otherwise standardized cable. While purchasing an upconvert DVD player, I looked at the HDMI cables in the store, and the cheapest one cost $39.99! Rather than buying it, I came home and checked Amazon and found a handful of cables for less than $20. I chose this cable, and received it a few days later. I hooked it up, and had no problems, so of course I was very satisfied with my purchase. Rather than going on in great length, I'll just close this by telling you to go ahead and purchase this cable as I don't see a reason to spend outrageous prices on one when this one seems to do the job at a fraction of the cost.Customer Review: Great Price. I already bought two of these cables and they all work great. I bought these cables for my Toshiba HD DVD player and I always get great picture and sound. Also a friend of mine recently bought HDMI monster cables for $85 because he thought his PS3 was going to look better with those expensive cables, so I told him to try out these cables and he said he saw no difference. So he went back to the store and return the monster cables, and he told me to order him some of these. Don't get fool by those big name brand cables. These cables will do the same as other expensive cables.
