Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Cables Unlimited 6-Foot HDMI Male to Male Cable (PCM-2295-06)

Customer Review: It' a HDMI cable
Summary: 5 Stars

There is not much to say other than it is inexpensive and works fine. Why pay a fortune for a cable when you can get one for very little. Interference is not really a problem with HDMI because it is a digital signal not Rf. Many mfg's want you to believe that their cables will shield stray signals, from what? RFI interference is not an issue. For short runs, under 25 feet, most of the cheap cables work fine. The connectors on some of the expensive cables are more robust but sometime that can cause your input jacks on your equipment to break. Don't let hype sell you the 'Brooklyn Bridge'. If you do not constantly plug and unplug your components, I have found the cheap cables work as well as the $50+ ones. HDMI cables are HDMI cables. Save some money and purchase another blu-ray movie instead of a $100 cable.

Customer Review: As far as I can tell no difference between this and the $100 cables
Summary: 5 Stars

For my purposes, without any complicated surround sound systems and with a 720p TV, I can't tell any difference between this cable and the more expensive models I've tried. This is triple-shielded as are the $80-$100 cables. I only even got it to free up a component input for my DVD player, otherwise I wouldn't have tried it. I can say, though, that it is surely better picture than the component cables that I had used to pipe my HDTV receiver signal to my 32" 720p Samsung LCD. I don't know if there would be a difference between this cable and an $80 Monster cable if you were using, for example, a 1080p signal on a 50" plasma screen and using Dolby 5.1 or something like that; but I can say that for my TV and sound you can save the money and buy this cable - use the extra 60 bucks to buy a few HD movies.

Customer Review: Great cables at a fraction of the "brand name"!
Summary: 5 Stars

When I purchased my new HDTV at circuit city (sorry Amazon, I needed it same day and had to pass on your better price...), the salesman there tried to sell me a "Monster" cable for nearly $100. I said no and went to Radio Shack, where I thought surely, I can get a cable for a lot less. Not true. Since I didn't need the HDMI cable right away, my next stop was Amazon. And as usual, I found a cost effective alternative. $9.00 vs $100. Sold!

Swapping out the component cable with the HDMI resulted in a noticable improvement in the picture. As cristal clear as the picture is now, I can't see how another $90 could improve it.

Delivery time was longer than expected, but worth the wait.

Customer Review: Fantastic Quality Cable at Rock Bottom Price
Summary: 5 Stars

Most retail stores are essentially using HDMI cables to commit fraud these days, often telling consumers they must pay upwards of $150 for an HDMI cable to use their new tv or dvd player. The monster, belkin, etc, cables that these stores sell are marked up well over 500% in many cases, and the cables themselves are of sub-par quality and simply covered in a lot of pretty plastic.

These low-price HDMI cables available through amazon, of which I have purchased several, are incredible quality, gold plated connectors, and a simple black cable without alot of frilly colors added for no reason. The connector housings are well made and durable, and the cable itself has a nice flexibility to it.

Customer Review: A cable is a cable is a cable
Summary: 5 Stars

When I got my HDMI capable HD TV and wanted to hook up my Upconverting DVD player through the HDMI output, I was confronted with outrageous Big Box store prices for HDMI cables. I wasn't about to pay almost as much for the cable as I had for the DVD player. Fortunately I found this cable through Amazon.com at a very good price (a WHOLE LOT less than the Big Box stores) even with shipping. Don't be fooled by all the hype about needing high end cabling for your HD TV and DVD players. This cable works very well and as intended. By the way, using the HDMI output of your source to feed an HDTV's input is the only way to go, even when you are upconverting standard DVD discs. The image is startlingly good!
