I'm using this cable to connect my 7th gen iPod classic to the 3.5 mm audio input port of my Bose Companion computer speakers. Works like it should. I initially tried making the connection with just a 3.5 mm cord out of the iPod headphone jack - as expected, there is no comparison in sound quality. Audio output is far superior with an iPod connector and worth the few extra bucks for this cable.
I will leave this on my desktop next to my monitor, so the fact that the cable is retractable is nice - I won't have 4 feet of cable getting tangled up in everything.
I have only had this for a short time, so I can't speak to other customers' comments about durability.
