Customer Review: Helps keep the peripherals compact and light -- but it didn't last as long as hoped

Bought this as an accessory for a netbook. It works like a charm. You do need to follow the directions and pull with equal pressure from both ends. If you don't, you can end up with a tangled mess. But we've used it for six months and it's been a wonderful, lightweight, compact alternative to the power cord that came with our netbook.
Updated 2 yrs after purchase to say: this will no longer lock at the full extended length, so we're going to order a new one. Considering we only used it maybe 24-48 hours a month, maybe it's not as sturdy as it should be. But I can't seem to find another brand. And after all, for less than $2/month, it was well worth it for us.

I am so glad I found Cables Unlimited. Their stuff is high quality and practical for road warriors. I use this retractable power cord at home too. I like to "in-line" connection far beeter than my Dell power cord. This retractable model is easier to re-pack and convenient to use. I take it everywhere. I can leave my other power cable in the office and just unplug the transformer when I leave. This is geat. It is long enough to actually extend my power connection. It runs 110V-240V without any trouble. The standard plug is readily adaptable if needed. The retractor is robust. I am replacing all my travel accessories with the high quality Cables Unlimited ZipLinq devices.Customer Review: Good travel laptop cable

I bought this to help reduce my cable clutter when I'm traveling. I'm pretty pleased with the result. It is fairly chunky, the retractor hub is 2 1/4" in diameter and 3/4" thick, but it still takes up less space than my old cable, with less mess. It seems sturdy and well built.
It replaces the laptop AC cable, i.e the cable from the wall AC outlet to the laptop's power transformer. (It doesn't replace the transformer!) At the transformer end, it supports the standard two prong "Figure Eight" connector and includes an adapter for the three prong "Mickey Mouse" connector. These are the two most common laptop power connectors.

Having good experience with a ziplinq cable kit purchased several years ago, I tried this to eliminate one more tangled mess. It's great! It's a little clunky but really takes up less space than coiling up the old power supply cable. I've had no problems with it even though I travel extensively and have owned it for several months. Even if it did jam/self destruct, I would immediately order another one.Customer Review: Great travel accessory

Overall this does not really save much space (well assuming you are an efficient cord wrapper, but that said the timeliness it added for quick pack up was great. I could easily leave my netbook to the end of packing charging and have the cord away in seconds. If always on the go, this is a great accessory.
