Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Cables To Go Velocity Series 40315 HDMI Cable (Blue, 2 meters)Customer Review: Low Price, High Value! Summary: 5 Stars
This is my first HDMI Cable purchase. I bought it basically cause I ran out of component video connections to my lcd tv and I have two hdmi inputs that aren't being used. I was going to buy locally but after seeing some of the prices I checked Amazon. I attached it to my dvd player which supports 480i and my tv which supports 480i and was amazed at the difference that the cable made in the picture and audio quality. I work with various types of equipment all the time with different types of cables. I've seen shoddy and cheap cables. This cable does not look or feel like a cheap cable and the results so far are more than what I expected. Definately would and will purchase another one of these again for any hdmi cable needs in the future.
Customer Review: HDMI cable top notch Summary: 5 Stars
Got this cable to hook up upconvert $80 Sony DVD player to VIZIO Hi-def tv. Wow! Made all my old dvd's and the newer ones like 3:10 to Yuma look absolutely great. If you can wait a couple days get this for under $20 like I did or go to Best Buy and shell out $60. You are still getting the same cable just paying for the brand name.
The cable itself is well made and has quality connectors everything snapped into place with a good tight fit on both units. I am in the music industry and know a crappy cable when I see one. This is NOT a crappy cable.
I don't use the audio from the tv but I still get 5.1 surround from the coaxial out of the dvd player to the home theatre receiver. It's all good with an $11 cable....
Customer Review: more for less? Summary: 5 Stars
Well not really more, but you get the needed functionality for a reasonable price. I looked at all of the HDMI cables while seeking one for my Upgrade DVD player. Prices ranged from a few dollars to over a hundred dollars. I chose these as a compromise - slightly more expensive than the least expensive but a lot less than the "top of the line" type. And they appear to be perfectly suitable.
Although I do not have the expensive cables to compare to, I suspect that I would not see a difference. This view was reinforced by a couple of pieces I have found on the web that make sense. The signal is digital not analogue, so the data cannot be degraded, it is either there or it is not.
Customer Review: No Need to Spend over $20 Summary: 5 Stars
People if you are spending more than $20 for a 6 foot HDMI cable you are spending too much. Remember it's a digital transfer. This is nothing more than a really fat USB cable and those are a dime a dozen. No need for fancy gold plated ends and super fancy shielding to protect against signal loss. It's just Ones and Zeros. The signal is either their or it's not. Don't be fooled by those who have made a fortune off of the analog cable business. The rules that guide analog signals don't realy apply to digital. Bigger is not better in the digital world and more expensive does not equal higher quality. This is the 3rd set of this brand of cable that I have bought and I have not had any issues.
Customer Review: This is all the cable that you need. Period. Summary: 5 Stars
Bought that new 42" LCD or plasma TV and need to hook it up?
This is all that you'll need in the way of HDMI cables. This is maybe overkill, too!
I am an electronic engineer and I wish that I had gotten into the EXPENSIVE VIDEO CABLE business. I'm sure those smart guys enjoy 1,000% profit. Cables are really CHEAP to make but.....
Wonderful, expensive digital video cables are NOT necessary.
There isn't a person alive that could detect an ioata of difference between this cable and a US$100 EXPENSIVE cable.
Same goes for the audio portion. Don't spend the money....take your family out for dinner on the savings instead.
