I bought this cable to go from my PC to standard definition TV because NVIDIA doesn't "support" SD over it's component out. So in order to get it to recognize and output the appropriate SD signal you have to use s-video or composite. Anyway, this cable works great, and it is plugged directly into a 7 pin s-video connector on my PC even though it's a 4 pin cable, which is nice so I don't have to use a extra connector. Pin out's can vary per video card though, so you may need an adapter. But I'd try it without first. Note that this will not work in a 9 pin s-video socket (uncommon as they are). I just say that so I don't send people off trying to force the plug in a incompatible receptor and potentially ruining either. Summary: I am satisfied with this cable.
