Customer Review: Top Quality Bottom Dollar
Summary: 5 Stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Optical digital audio cables aren't exactly mainstream, but if you look around at your various electronic boxes sitting in your TV cabinet, you might be surprised to find a couple of these ports. If you are using the speakers on your TV or don't have a receiver, you might not benefit from an optial audio connection. Even with a perfect setup, some people may find the imrovement not worth all the money and trouble. However, one thing is for certain, if you already have a receiver and decent speakers hooked up, you'll want to take advantage of your optical digital audio.

This cables to go optical audio cable does a great job at a low price (especially factoring in free shipping). If you just want the one cable it can be a hassle to track one down in a store and shipping can bump the price you pay up pretty high. Plus, you won't find a better cable. Despite my attempts, i couldn't get any interference past the shielding and it works just as well as my other, more expensive cable.

Customer Review: great cable, good quality. nice features for the price

This cable really surprised me.
For the prices it is being sold for, I assumed it was one of those lower end cables which lack many of the convenience features.
I say convenience because it's really hard to make a bad quality fiber optic cable because of the way the data is transferred.
So first of all you can rest assured that data transfer with this cable is going to be flawless.
Now, to the other features that make this cable easy to use, and will help it last longer:
1. Clips in - some cables do not "clip" in to their ports, so you can't be sure if they are properly inserted, any might fall out of place. Not this one!
2. Length. 8ft. niceeeeee! Usually I need to plan the location of my components because long cables are pretty rare. I like this one.
3. Sturdy cable, the outer shell protects the fiber inside.
Bottom line, I stopped buying monster "THX certified" stuff a long time ago, and I am not going back.
Buy it, you'll enjoy it.

Customer Review: A cable by any other name (Brand) would it be as good?

Wellllll let me tell you.........in this case "Cables to Go" works just as well as my high price name brand Gold Tipped cables! My son is DEEP into video filming & editing & it seems as he is ALWAYS "NEEDING" another cable of some kind, so when I had the opportunity to snag this baby to do a quality comparison I jumped on ascertain IF in fact I had been wise in ALWAYS buying the higher priced cables in the past. Well maybe there is a difference in other low end brands in comparison to the "Gold Tips" but in this case no one could tell any difference! NADA!!! So when I need a spare cable or replacement I will for sure be shopping for it in this bargain brand!! So if you are like me & want/need a quality cable feel confident in buying this one, at least in my cable I found it to be of the same quality as my Gold one,. If I have any issues down the road I will let you know, as I, like you, depend on these Amazon reviews to determine what will best suit my needs!

Customer Review: Terrific value if you need an optical cable for your A/V setup

As others have noted, optic fiber either works or it doesn't - if it doesn't work, it means you have a defective one. This cable is a great deal - its 8 foot length should be more than adequate to hook up your DVD (say) to your receiver (if you have them by each other in a cabinet, like me), or possibly to reach from a player situated further from your rack (i once had to toslink up two shorter cables to do that; this lengthy cable would've solved that problem). Considering that i once paid around $40 for a similar cable about 10 years ago, when they were a relatively novel addition to my early-adoption of DVD, this cable is a steal at this price. If you are able to go with optical for your audio needs, then by all means, do so (in lieu of wire).

Customer Review: Well...it works, the length is great and the price is right.

I realize audiophiles are likely to get very excited by small incremental improvements in the quality of the sound but if you are an average listener like me, it's not all that apparent. Okay, I confess people have a tendency to think I'm 'tone deaf'...although I'm really not...because I just don't seem to notice anything more than the most obvious changes. So, perhaps this is just me but this cable didn't seem to sound any different than the ones that came out of the box. Having said that, this is easy to hook-up, priced very right and works flawlessly. Best of all, I really needed an 8 ft cord because the short one from the box was barely long enough. Bottom line - great length, great price...sounds fine to me but I don't really hear a difference.
