Pros:
Cheaper than the official Apple cable.
Longer than the official Apple cable. (The official cable is around 3ft and this cable is around 5ft.)
The iPod/iPhone connector locks into your iPod/iPhone with push-button clips, so it's more secure than the stock cable.
Thicker construction.
Better stress reliefs at connectors.
Works great with my iPhone 3G.
Also works great with a 80GB iPod.
Cons:
Not as stylish.
iPod/iPhone connector is not metal reinforced.
I've always found the official Apple cable to be very stylish but way to short, overpriced, and fragile. This 3rd party cable is pretty thick and it's shielded. The cable is made from BizLink Techology High-Speed Shielded USB 2.0 stock. The cable gauge is 28AWG. It's thicker than my original iPhone 3G cable so seems more heavy duty. The stress relief at ends of the connector are also nicer than the official Apple cable. The Apple cable always gives me problems by coming apart at the connectors, hopefully this one will last longer. This cable works with both syncing and charging.
