Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Crucial CT2KIT25664BC1067 4GB 204-PIN PC3-8500 SODIMM DDR3 Memory KIT (2GBx2)Customer Review: Clean and easy install Summary: 5 Stars
The RAM came in today. Opening up my macbook pro (13", 2.26 Ghz, Core 2 Duo) was easy. Just flip the machine over and remove the single 'backplate' off the unibody.
Did have some trouble getting the new RAM popped into place; but I'll consider it to be my own lack of skill.
The system did not recognize 2 GB of the RAM on the first boot and that had me concerned. Looked at the RAM again and it seems I didn't seat the second chip correctly. As I said earlier .... lack of skill....
All went well after the second attempt. System shows 4 GB of RAM. The boot seems slightly faster. Im typing this review off my Mac now.
Go ahead and buy it. Crucial makes good stuff. The spend is worth it.
Customer Review: Superb upgrade for late-2008 aluminum MacBook Summary: 5 Stars
I own a 2.4 GHz aluminum unibody late-2008 MacBook. It came stock with 2 gigs of RAM, which, while great for light use, wasn't cutting it for Starcraft and heavy GarageBand work. 4 gigs makes all the difference. It zips along through whatever I throw at it, and program startup times are significantly improved. Install was a breeze, but whatever you do, make SURE that you use a Phillips 00 screwdriver for MacBooks. Those screws are easy to strip. Both sticks were recognized right away and I'm a happy camper! Packaging was very convenient, with each stick in its own resealable plastic enclosure. These are great to store your old RAM in. Shipping was prompt, price was good. I definitely recommend.
Cheers
Customer Review: Great Upgrade for MacBook Pro Summary: 5 Stars
I recently purchased a MacBook Pro with 2GB of RAM which wasn't enough for the applications I run such as a few tabs on Firefox, Safari, iTunes and a couple smaller background apps and my Ram usage was almost always above 75% which was starting to slow it down. With 4GB I can run everything I used to and them some. In fact I can run the Sims 3 (medium-settings) and a few applications in the back ground without wanting to pull out my hair. Having 4GB instead of 2GB really saves me from constantly checking how much I have left, and the installation took less than five minutes and everything booted up normally, just with 4GB instead of 2! Best Price at $90 with 1-day ship.!
Customer Review: Works great in a MacBook Pro (Summer 2009) Summary: 5 Stars
I got this Crucial 4GB memory kit CT2KIT25664BC1067 to install in 13-inch MacBook Pro (Summer 2009); the latest as of this writing with a SD card slot. The memory, once installed, has worked perfectly even though I never did run memtest86+ (memory diagnostics program) to validate they are error free.
Regarding the install on this particular laptop, you should know the memory slots are finicky and may require to reseat the memory several times. I went through several boot beeps, turn off, open the back of the laptop, reseat, close and try again. The total install time was about 30 minutes.
All said, this memory is definitely recommended.
Customer Review: Great upgrade for my 27" iMac Summary: 5 Stars
Buying memory from Apple is just a waste of money. I purchased this set of chips to upgrade my fairly new iMac 27" from 4gb to 8gb. Thankfully iMac's now have 4 slots instead of only 2 so eventually I can upgrade to 16gb of ram. Crucial is a brand that you can trust and rely on. I snapped these chips in under 5 minutes and was up and running with no problems. I use Photoshop a lot and was working on a huge file and saw a big difference compared to when I only had 4gb ram. I'm super happy that I upgraded!!! Price was just right too. Saved a bit of money buying the 2 chips rather than one single 4gb. I'm on a major tight budget and this was my option. Great product!
