Customer Review: Value for Money !
Summary: 5 Stars

Guys, don't expect your computer performance to just zoom with the installation of these memory sticks. Only if you have a powerful processor to complement a 4GB RAM as well as a 64 bit OS, you can't really appreciate the usefulness of the RAM. I was running a core 2 duo 2.5Ghz processor with 2GB RAM and decided I needed to go for an upgrade. I installed this 4GB set and also did an OS upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 64bit version. On hindsight for just day to day work like browsing and word processing stuff, I dint really notice a change. But I am a graduate student and run some simulations on my laptop. I could notice significant improvements then.

BOTTOM LINE:

1. You are just a casual user doing just browsing, word processing with processor speeds of less than 2.1 Ghz, you don't need this !

2. You need heavy processing and need to run multiple applications simultaneously, go for it !!

Customer Review: Easy upgrade
Summary: 5 Stars

This RAM was almost half the price of the Apple store equivalent and I was able to easily upgrade my 2009 MacBook Pro 15" from 2GB to 4MB in about five minutes. It was simple, quick and painless and worked flawlessly (instructions are on the Apple website). Make sure you have a good quality small (tiny!) Phillips screwdriver so you don't strip the screws.
My MacBook Pro used to run slowly when I was running VMWare. I used a free utility (Peek-a-Boo) to look at memory/processor/disk usage and found that all the memory was being used but only 30-50% of the processor, and "thrashing" (where the computer spends too much time shuffling blocks of virtual memory between real memory and disk) was occurring. This is now a thing of the past and multiple applications now load and run more quickly and swap instantaneously. A hundred dollars well spent!

Customer Review: Late 2009 Macbook Pro easy upgrade
Summary: 5 Stars

Much has been said about this product. I upgraded my 13 inch Macbook Pro (purchased 9/09) from 2gb to 4gb. The upgrade was very easy provided you buy the #00 screwdriver (which is sold on Amazon). I would recommend the expense as the screws are easily stripped. It took me less than 10 minutes with taking the screws out, popping the memory in and putting the machine back together.

Check on youtube for tutorials if you have never replaced memory before.

The performance increase is satisfying. I don't run very intensive programs but appreciate the increase in performance and the piece of mind knowing that my Macbook will be able to handle pretty much whatever I throw at it.

After opening up the case I realized how easy it would be to update the hard drive as well. Great product, cool project.

Customer Review: Excellent for late 2009 MacBook MC207LL/A
Summary: 5 Stars

Crucial is well known as a premium supplier of memory. This unit works perfectly in the late 2009 Polycarbonate MacBook MC207LL/A. Installation is easy, but you do need a #00 Philips screwdriver to remove the back of the computer. Complete instructions are given in section 3 of the Owner's Manual.

The memory cards were difficult to remove from the Crucial packaging. They had to be pried out with a plastic alignment tool (similar to a flat blade screwdriver). The cards looked different than the illustration. The illustration shows four large chips on the surface, but my cards had eight smaller chips on the surface.

Total time to install was about ten minutes. The computer instantly recognized the memory and showed the status of each card as OK.

Customer Review: Works flawlessly
Summary: 5 Stars

My computer is twice as fast! I used this memory for my Late 2008 Unibody Macbook and I absolutely love it.
I do web design and development with photoshop, flash, and various other programs as well as running windows on a virtual machine.
My computer's 2gb memory was not able to handle all the tasks I was doing before without slowing down significantly.
After upgrading to this memory, it works much much faster. I rarely get the spinning rainbow circle.
I am very happy with my purchase. For the increase in productivity this memory gave me - it's totally worth the price.
From my understanding of the industry, Crucial is a very reliable source and I have not had any problems in the past five months of owning this memory.
Highly recommended.
