Got the cards in the mail, i got them for my white macbook, which only 1g od ram...went to youtube to get a idea how to install it myself...i normally dont do these type of things on my own...but i gave it a shot...since i have a mac i wondering of the notebook would read...well..i turned it over...got a quarter opened up the back of the mac...simply unscrewed the nails....took out the old cards....pushed in the news one...you gotta make sure you push hard enough to kinda feel a snap...
put eveything back together...hit the power button...got the apple logo....which means everything went well...checked on my apple setting if 2g were there...all done
you cant beat the price anywhere....
and now my mac is blazing fast! even with multiple programs running...huge improvment!

I bought this memory upgrade for a laptop that is over five years old. I don't do anything too demanding on the laptop. Prior to my upgrade, the laptop slowed anytime I had a program running in the background. The additional 2GB of memory has noticeably improved the overall speed and performance of my laptop. It is still not blazing fast but I no longer pull my hair out when my virus scan begins running in the background. For the price I paid, I will probably extend the life of my laptop for another five years.
One observation, don't be shy about pushing the modules into their slots. At first I thought the memory was defective. It turns out I had inserted them only halfway into their slots and the computer would not recognize them unless they are fully inserted.

After two years of ownership, my laptop wasn't working too well. It took forever to start up and shut down and getting things done was an exercise in patience. Instead of tossing the old PC, I decided to perk it up with some more memory. Using Crucial's website, I determined what type of memory I needed and ordered it from Amazon. I increased my memory from 512MB to 2GB. The package had 2 1GB modules. Installation took all of 5 minutes. I just opened the memory hatch on the bottom of my laptop, popped out the old module and slid in the new ones. The moment I fired up the PC running Crucial's memory, it instantly perked up. I purchased this memory for a Dell Vostro 1000. I really HATED the packaging! I had to fight to get the outer package open. Then the memory chips were practically buried in a stiff plastic internal package. I was really worried that I would break the memory chips before I could even use them. There were no instructions on how to properly open or remove them from the package. Crucial really needs to improve on how they package their products. Aside from the packaging, I was satisfied with the memory. Once I finally installed the memory in the laptop, it worked fine. Apparently I didn't ruin them while wrestling with them. I bought this to upgrade my wife's very slow MacMini that she's been using steadily since we bought it in 2006. It was a first-generation, 'Core Solo' unit at only 1.5MHz, and only 512Mb of memory. She's been doing a lot more multi-tasking (not only email open and several webpages, but also Word and Excel) so her machine has been slowing to a crawl.
This upgrade was great. Easy to find online instructions with pictures, you will need a decent putty knife, a bit of courage, and a good long (and small) philips screwdriver. Was done in less than 20 minutes, and everything works swimmingly!
Shipping was fast and the memory fit great. Lowest price around, even from Crucial directly!
