Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Crucial 2GB 256Mx64PC2-5300 CT25664AC667 DDR2 200-Pin SODIMM Laptop Memory

Customer Review: Has Functioned Well
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought two of these along with an Acer Aspire AS1410-2039. It came with two 1 gig sticks in it and I wanted to max the memory out, since it can take up to 4 gig. Installation was easy, though this has to do more with the laptop than the memory itself, but for anyone who hasn't put new memory sticks in a computer before, it is really straight forward.

The sticks have functioned properly and I've had no issues, going on 3 months now.

I can't really compare the speed or any other metrics as I've not used any other memory in the machine and haven't done any testing of the memory. But the laptop runs very, very well and I've had no issues with bad dimms. I've always done well with Crucial in the past and they haven't let me down here either.

Customer Review: Works perfectly with Thinkpad x100e dual core Turion X2
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased 4gb (2 sticks of 2gb) of these right here on AMAZON in order to upgrade my Thinkpad x100e. Initially my THinkpad came with only 1GB of RAM. Boy, was it slow! The installation is very easy, and the computer acknowledged it instantly when I booted up.

The difference from 1gb to 4gb is like night and day. My boot time and logoff/sleep time has decrease dramatically, and everything is just much much faster. I was contemplating on replacing my hard drive with an SSD, but now Im having second thoughts... cuz its as fast as i need it to be at this point.(Its fast enough to not ever feel annoyed for everyday computing and work)

Overall I'm very satisfied with the purchase. Price was unbeatable, and its working like a charm.

Customer Review: Double the memory, double the fun!
Summary: 5 Stars

I installed the Crucial 2GB 667 Mhz CT25664AC667 DDR2 200-Pin SODIMM memory chip in a Dell Mini 9 Netbook. Installation was a breeze and took only a couple of minutes. Installing the memory required a small Phillips-head screwdriver to open the memory compartment door (be careful not to lose the screw).

Keep in mind the Dell Mini 9 Netbook only has one memory slot, which means you will have to remove the memory chip that came with the Netbook to make space for the new memory chip.

Overall, performance is significantly improved when running multiple applications simultaneously (especially Internet Explorer with several tabs open). Tested with Windows XP Home and Windows 7 Ultimate Beta (Build 7000).

Summary: 5 Stars

This is truly a great product. I purchased this for my HP Mini 210 1030NR netbook that I bought earlier from Amazon.com. At first when I installed the module it caused the computer to keep restarting and I hoped it wasn't defective. Then I realized it may have just been because the BIOS was outdated. Surely enough that was the source of the problem. Once I updated it and reinstalled the module it breezed right on into Windows 7 Starter. Now I have a speedier netbook without having to worry about it freezing up and moving sluggish on me during usage.

I recommend this product greatly but just be sure to update your BIOS first prior to installation to prevent the computer not recognizing it fully.

Customer Review: Inexpensively Increase MacBook Pro RAM From 2GB to 3GB
Summary: 5 Stars

I maximized the amount of RAM in my MacBook Pro by replacing one of the existing 1GB memory modules with this 2GB one for only $18.99! For what it cost this upgrade could not be passed up.

I use Parallels Desktop to run Windows XP virtual machines and Apple's Final Cut Studio. Performance wise I can't tell if my system is now running faster or slower. My main concern was that running Windows in the Parallels VMs was causing the MacBook Pro run hot causing its fans to make a lot of noise. My thinking was the internal hard drive was paging virtual memory excessively and adding this RAM would reduce that. It has helped some but the MBP still gets pretty hot when running Windows XP in a VM.
