Bought this RAM to improve the speed on the little netbook, this it does help. The little Aspire One with the more RAM is no great big improvement though. The 1.6Ghz Atom processor and the 8Mb dynamic video is still just a little to weak to run some games or apps smoothly or at all(this is with very few processes running as well, removed a lot of the pre-installed stuff that came with the netbook). This is of course no fault to the Crucial RAM. I am happy with the purchase even though it may sound like I am not, I knew before buying the RAM the One was not a "GAMING" computer and not to expect it to become a "GAMING" computer JUST by adding more RAM.
Installation is a snap, about 1 or 2 minutes and your done, takes longer getting the screw driver to remove the RAM compartment cover and opening the packaging the RAM came in.

I ordered this Crucial chip from Amazon and at a good price and free shipping. I purchased this for a brand new Acer Aspire One AOD250 netbook. I received the netbook as a gift and knew I wanted to upgrade the 1GB of RAM to 2GB. I removed the cover on the netbook and removed the 1 GB chip and installed this new 2GB chip before I ever started the netbook for the very first time. Total installment time was less than 5 minutes.
I then started the netbook for the first time and pressed the F2 setup to begin and to make sure it recognized this new RAM. No problems of any kind. Has worked great in the new netbook but I cannot actually tell how much faster it made it since I did not run the netbook with the original 1GB in it. Crucial is great as is Amazon and I have had excellent luck in the past with both companies.

The crucial memory for my Asus netbook EEE PC 1000HA has proven a worth while buy. Especially for the cost. The item arrived within 3 days and the installation was so simple (2 screws and that's it). If you need directions go on you tube and search for EEE pc memory install and you will find a ton of simple videos.
Pros: cheap, easy to install, instantly notice the difference w/all the applications I use at once.
Cons: nothing found!
Note* some experience a blank screen. Remember to snap the memory in correctly or you will get error messages. This is a plug and play..once installed and you turn on the pc it will ask you tp press F2. Also remember once you remove the battery turn the power on to release any left over power. This is highly reccomended.

Ordered this to replace the 1GB stick that came with my Asus Eee PC 1005 HAB.
Works perfectly.
Though with this machine, for some reason, you need to access the BIOS to have the computer acknowledge the full 2GB.
I have a dual boot set up with Win7 and Ubuntu and neither OS recognized the memory right away or after any more reboots. Running the memory test from Windows Boot Manager also did not do it.
On this machine you need to hit F2 right before the Boot Manager - if you miss it, hit escape then quickly tap F2 to enter the BIOS. You don't have to change anything in the BIOS, just save and quit. Once you boot back into Winodws (or Linux), the memory should be recognized.
As I understand it, this is due to the Eee PC, not the memory itself.

Certain items in technology are basically commodities. As long as you are educated enough in the area to know what specifically to buy (for instance, a memory chip, what speed, what type for your computer, etc) then look for a recognized brand first, then simply compare price. For these types of items, price becomes the determining factor. In this case, Crucial is a major brand, highly reviewed, the type, DDR2 SODIMM, speed, 667MHZ, and the size 2GB, were just what I needed. And .. it was the least expensive within the top brands. Ergo, end of decision process. Arrived fast, popped it in, worked immediately in my Dell Inspiron 1525. End result: I'm a happy camper. Bottomline, don't think you'll get a better product in commodities just by paying more. You'll just pay more.
