Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Crucial 2GB 256Mx64PC2-5300 CT25664AC667 DDR2 200-Pin SODIMM Laptop MemoryCustomer Review: How to install Summary: 5 Stars
I know almost nothing about computers and was kind of scared because I love my new computer and didn't want to kill it. This is what you do because there are a few opinions and I had a hard time because I didn't know what to do at first. Once you do it is as easy as pie. TAKE OUT THE BATTERY. Next, take off the one screw. (I have an AsusEEE). Take out the old (go easy on the clips but it will come out with a little fooling around). Then put in your new ram with the sticker up. THE IMPORTANT thing is that it goes in on a 45degree angle and then you push down. You will feel it slip in as you push it in on the angle. If you try (as I did) to put it in straight it will just be loose in there. It will click into place. Then put back on the cover. Now people say to press f2. It is not necessary but you do it to see if the computer recognizes the 2gb. You can do this if you want. On the screen it will say that your system has 2000 mb or a little more. Good, that is equal to 2gb. Your done.
Customer Review: Excellent product for an unbelievable price! Summary: 5 Stars
When I first landed on this product's page, I thought that either the price was wrong or that the product was not up to par. Well, I can now tell you that I was way off and that both the price and the product rock! Prior to buying the product, I did some research regarding whether I could install this particular chip on my Macbook; lucky for me it was a match made in heaven!
The installation process was a breeze and the difference in speed and performance was simply mind-blowing! i look forward to buying more RAM from Crucial and hopefully I'll find a 4 GB chip for my Macbook Pro... either that or I'll just have to buy two 2Gb sticks!
Updated December 3rd, 2009
Well, after a year or so I decided it was time to pimp my MB Pro once more so I went with the obvious choice: Crucial! I now have 2 2GB sticks from Crucial and performance is excellent. I recommend these sticks to anyone looking for great prices and excellent performance.
Customer Review: Does the Job Summary: 5 Stars
I installed this ddr2 memory into my asus 1005ha, and what else can I say except, it does the job. 2gb is fine for Windows 7, and it basically allows you to have more windows and programs up at one time w/o getting that BSOD (blue screen of death) due to no memory. The amount of free memory on Windows 7, when nothing major is running and you are just on the desktop, varies between 900-1200mb (Again..This is plenty). How easy it is to install all depends on the type of computer you have, but most laptops just have a door on the underside of them that can be opened with a screw driver. It is like this on the 1005ha. As for speed, memory really doesn't have that much to do with speed (memory = storage) unless it begins to run low. With battery life, I really don't think it effects the battery much at all. Therefore, if you want to feel safe with Windows 7 on your EeePC netbook, go ahead and update to 2gb. Otherwise, if you using XP, there is no need.
Customer Review: Works with ASUS Eee PC 900A Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this memory kit to enhance my ASUS Eee PC 900A.
PROS
[+] Compatible with ASUS Eee PC 900A
[+] Fast and simple installation
[+] No problems encountered after installation
[+] Instructions included in package
[+] Inexpensive ($25.47 at time of purchase)
CONS
[-] Clamshell packaging
After receiving this memory kit, I simply opened the bottom panel of the ASUS Eee PC 900A with a screwdriver. I followed the instructions to remove the old memory and install the kit I ordered, then replaced the bottom panel. This process took less than a minute.
After installation, I turned on the ASUS Eee PC 900A, and the netbook acted normally. I didn't encounter any problems after that.
My only gripe with this product is that the memory kit is stored in clamshell packaging, which is annoying to open. Otherwise, this is a great product for the quality and price.
Customer Review: Plug and Play on ASUS Eee PC 1000HE Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this module for my new ASUS Eee PC 1000HE. The installation was as easy as on any other laptop. You will be able to do it even if you have no technical knowledge.
Memory upgrades are one of the cheapest, easiest upgrades you can perform on a PC, and they are one of the only ones you can do on notebooks or netbooks. I didn't even fool around with the computer before installing this RAM, so I can't say whether there is a noticeable difference in performance, but for $20-25 how can you go wrong?
Crucial is a "household name" in computer memory. I have used their RAM before in other PC's, and have never had an issue. While I just installed this particular module, I am not expecting to experience any issues whatsoever, and so far it is performing up to expectations.
I would definitely recommend this cheap, simple upgrade for anyone hoping to increase their PC's performance instantly!
