Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Corsair XMS2 4 GB (2 X 2 GB) PC2-6400 800 MHz 240-PIN DDR2 Dual-Channel Memory Kit - TWIN2X4096-6400C5Customer Review: Best bang for your buck Summary: 5 Stars
I've been building computers for half of my life; it comes with the territory of being a generation-y adolescent. I've used Geil, Buffalo, OCZ, Crucial, and most other brands on the market, but over the past several years I keep returning to Corsair. They have great quality peripherals, courteous and intelligent support, and they're like the energizer bunny - they just keep going. And going.
I built two computers, one for myself and one for a friend, with nearly identical internal components; only difference was the RAM. He opted for Crucial Ballistix while I went with the pricier, though more reputable, Corsair. Three years later, he's had to RMA his OCZ twice due to intermittent boot attempts; I recently purchased two more sticks for my old PC which I turned into a server.
The bottom line is, you might think you're spending more when buying Corsair, but when you consider the longevity of the components in your computer and compare it to the other products on the market you'll see you're really getting what you pay for (and then some!)

4GB of ram for under $[...] after mail in rebate is too good to pass up. I just put together a new HTPC last night using these and am well pleased. Left Memtest running all night and there were no errors. DOA sticks of ram should not influence your buying decision. I have purchased DOA sticks of Corsair, Kingston, and Crucial ram over the years...when a working replacement arrives, it does the job just fine. You will most likely replace your system before a non overclocked, working stick of ram craps out on you. Bottom line, if you are not looking to overclock, this ram is a steal at the moment! You can use the money saved from not buying expensive overclockable ram to purchase a faster processor :)
Customer Review: Works great... Summary: 5 Stars
Plugged 'em in and they work great (8GB total RAM now). Even though 32-bit apps can't address above 3GB, Windows Vista 64-bit caches data in high upper memory and makes the system perform faster. Arrived fast and in perfect condition. Appear to be of high quality.
UPDATE: Had one of these go bad. Started getting Blue Screens of Death. A diagnostic identified which one, I pulled the pair and send to Corsair for warranty replacement. They shipped back the replacements quickly and I'm back in business. Unfortunate that I had a failure but excellent service by Corsair so I'm still a happy camper.
Customer Review: makes a lot of difference!! Summary: 5 Stars
Replaced 2 512mb sticks by these to get to 6gb on a vista 32 bits. it took me a long time to decide if it would work, i'd read vista 32 wouldn't recognize over 4gb. but it did, and it makes a world of difference! I have a pretty bad DSL connection, max bandwidth is about 1.3mbs, when I stream movies on Netflix, it used to take over 5 minutes, with at least 2 interruption for buffering in the middle. Now, it takes less than a minute to get to the beginning of the movie, and there aren't any interruption!! it is really amazing! Highly recommended.
Customer Review: Great RAM, esp for the price Summary: 5 Stars
Okay, so 4gbs of RAM for under a hundred dollars?? How can it be any good?? Well yes, and it's *great*! And, to boot, it's got faster processing power. I don't have any problems with it and it has definitely sped up my system. Remember, too, that if you run the 64-bit version of Windows7 (or Vista or XP), you'll get all 4gb's of RAM; however, if you're running the 32-bit, you'll only get about 3gbs. The rest goes to graphics, which is actually a good thing in itself. So check it out, buy it, and love it.
