I looked at a lot of mounts and found most of them over priced for what they do (just hang there..). Even after reading the reviews that weren't so favorable for this mount because of the cheap hardware and poor instructions, I decided to buy it and give it a try. The price is just too good. Similar mounts at Best Buy or Sears were almost $200.
The box arrived pretty quickly and everything was there but one of the plastic knobs used to tighten the tilt angle was broken. It also looked like they sent two of the same brackets that mount directly to the TV. I had to take one apart and put it back together backwards so that the broken, plastic knob faced out and was accessible. I also krazy glued the knob back together. That was frustrating.
Like other reviews mention, the instructions are pretty sparse. Be prepared to measure (twice!) and figure out how to mount this thing on your own.
Other hardware issues:
-Anchors are bolts, not screws. You better have a ratchet set or a bit for your drill if you're buying this mount.
-The wing nuts that help control the tilt angle broke as I was hand tightening them. I'm not Superman, they're just garbage type cheap. I've never seen the wings fall off of these before. It was kind of funny.
-Mounting bolts to the TV were soft and the screw heads began to soften up after I took my power drill to them.
Even with all those issue, I LOVE this mount. It provides for a ton of movement and all the angles are easily adjustable. I would buy this again, even with all the hardware issues. It's super sturdy and should last a long time. I can replace the wing nuts for eighty cents.
Cheetah, if you're reading this, spend a few bucks more on better hardware. The mount is reasonably priced as is and a dollar or two more for better hardware is nothing.
