Bought for 14-year old son, and he seems to like the cool factor - my guess is some girl in his class complimented it. Does what it is supposed to and saves the plastic/paper bag. Water bottle compartment is not very useful for anything but a slim bottle of water since it does not seal closed; hence, you cannot use it for silverware or protein bar, et al. Feels durable and has survived two months of middle school.Customer Review: weird shape works well

This bag is unconventional. It is like a boxing glove with an exaggerate thumb when full, but it holds a good size lunch and flattens to next to nothing when empty. Given its strange shape objects longer than 7-8" may not fit well depending on their width. I haven't had a problem with large sandwiches, chips and apple or medium size leftover containers.Customer Review: excellent item

I have both this lunch tote and the larger, NY tote that has no separate compartment for a water bottle. The lunch tote holds enough food for two meals -- lunch, and a snack -- is lightweight, and folds flat when empty. The latter makes it easy to carry the tote home in my purse or small tote bag.
My only complaint is that the compartment holding the water bottle does not zip. This means (1) that if the tote is not placed in a larger bag, I must carry what clearly is my lunch to professional meetings and conferences -- sometimes a tad embarrassing, because I feel like a fifth-grader and (2) more importantly, that if the bottle opens, there is nothing to absorb the spilled water. This was a problem when I carried the lunch tote in a larger bag and my water bottle leaked; goodbye, paperback novel.
On the whole, I would buy this tote again; however, a seal for the water bottle compartment would be appreciated.

If I had looked at this item in person I wouldn't have purchased it. The lunch area is too small as is the drink section. I bought it for my toddler to take to his daycare for his daily lunch and I can barely fit my hand in tucking in his meal containers (which aren't big.)I have other BuiltNY items and prefer them as the overall quality is still superb to anything else I see on the market.
