I tried a couple other toner replacements that were not from Brother
and was not happy with them. One of them would not snap into the unit
correctly and the print quality was poor. The other one ran out of
toner way too fast. So I decided I should actually buy an actual
Brother replacement cartridge. Looked around and Amazon had the
best price so I ordered it. It fits in the unit perfectly and the
print quality if very good. I have printed over 1200 pages and have
had no problems.

I have the MFC 7840W and love it. The toner thing was getting on my nerves, since it went low too early and as others have mentioned, you can't "shake and go" for longer life. Using the tip to cover the window on the right side of the cartridge with opaque tape, I have been through over 3 reams of paper and have put the fourth ream in earlier today, on that same cartridge that was at "end of toner life". I keep waiting for it to start fading, but it's still printing and printing and printing....Customer Review: Price and convenience

Although I rated this product down for noise, I'm not sure that is fair. My Brother printer produces a squeeky noise while printing. Could be the printer itself, or something about the toner, although the toner cartridge is factory-authorized.
I bought this product based solely on price and convenience. My local big-box office supply store is several miles away and charges more, so I save a trip and money.

Toner Cartridge works as expected. Remember to extend the life of your cartridge by covering one of the "windows" on the side of the cartridge with opaque tape. The printer will shut down when the electric eye is not blocked by the toner level. On my last cartridge I printed more pages after the eye shut the printer down and I covered the window than I did before it shut down. Rapid shipping and a great price, compared to brick-and-mortar stores. Good purchase and an easy install. I've never installed a toner cartridge into a laser printer before (I've been using the pre-installed one for the past year); even so it took the whole of thirty seconds. Very easy and self explanatory.
