I have had this printer for two years and I have never had any trouble with it. The printer has only jammed paper 13 times in that time period and I have only had to replace the toner once. The toner replacement was super easy and practically took three steps. When I purchased this printer, it was $89.99 and at that time it was an unbeatable bargain. I use it networked with a few computers in my house. It works nicely with Linux, OS X, XP, Vista, and Windows 7. I couldn't have asked for a better printer in terms of value. The web interface is clunky and may require networking experience to setup.
One of my biggest complaints about the printer is that it is super noisy and that the cooling fan stays on quite a while after each print job.
For the value and quality, it's a definite buy.

The Brother HL-2070N is a perfect printer for printing black-and-white drafts. This printer allows me to print quickly and economically. It also fit nicely in the small pull-out printer space that is part of my office furniture. When I need a final, polished copy to give to a client, I use my color inkjet printer. The Brother printer has saved me time on printing documents by printing at laser speed versus inkjet speed, and it has saved me money by allowing me to purchase significantly fewer inkjet cartridges. Having a black-and-white laser and a color inkjet has turned out to be the perfect combination. I bought a Brother HL-2070N about four years ago. When it died, I recently purchased the same printer as a replacement. It is smaller than any other laser printer I found and yet it works very nicely.Customer Review: Great quality, speed

Have had this for a few weeks now hooked up to my wireless router in a closet (toddler-proof!). Setup was a breeze, and the print quality is fantastic. Very fast, even from sleep mode. No jams or errors yet using the recommended Hamermill 24lb. laser.
Curling is present, but if the page sits for a while with the paper support extended, it settles out.
When in sleep mode it turns off completely, goes cold. This is great being in a closet like I have it.
The one con is that it's really noisy. Really. Since I have it in a closet, it's not an issue, but it's Concorde-like in operation and warm-up.
I got it for under $100 and I'm quite happy. I don't need color (I get photos from Snapfish), and wanted a great quality, reliable mono network printer. This is it.

For the money you can't beat this printer. Prints faster than any inkjet could and for a lower cost per copy. Also if you print with the toner saver turned on it is even lower per sheet to print. Bought this so I could print over my network. I have it hooked up to my switch which is hooked to my router. Went into my router and gave the printer a static IP address. Had trouble with the webpage based setup just couldn't keep the thing working.
What I did to get it working correctly is, add it as a local printer on each computer then change the port setting to TCP/IP. I then entered the IP address of the printer 192.168.X.X. Works great like this and wakes up from the power saving sleep mode. Even with the small networking problem I still gave this 5 stars.

After reading many positive reviews on this printer I decided to purchase for small business use. Constantly buying replacement ink for my ink jet was my push to find a more economical printer. The set up was a snap. The print is EXCELLENT and even on saver mode it prints just fine. It is also very fast and the page curling thing is blown way out of proportion. If black only print is what you need I highly recomend this printer. I also checked into toner replacement for this machine and found it very reasonable on Amazon around $43. You can also get compatable toner in the $32 range around the net. Now at approximately .02 per page you cannot beat this printer. Plus it looks great and takes up a small amount of space. I highly recommend the Brother HL2070N.
