Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Brother HL-2070N Network Monochrome Laser Printer (Black)Customer Review: The best darn little printer this side of the Mississippi Summary: 5 Stars
This printer was bought to work on a Mac network. I connected it to my router and it's performed extremely well. I bought this to replace my old, trusty Apple Personal Laserwriter 320 which kept going like a great diesel truck. Only problem: With power outages the Asanté ethernet bridge was almost impossible to get started again once I switched from OS9 to OS 10.xxx.
Enter the Brother from another generation!!! This prints very fast. I usually have only about 10 - 20 sheets maximum to print and this is done in a minute. The network is easy to set up and I would buy another one in a heartbeat. If you are working on a network, be sure to get the 2070N (for network) and it will work reliably with Airport or through a cable connect. I had read about paper curl. No problem for me. Use 20# paper and there's no real issue here.
Customer Review: Easy setup...no power problems Summary: 5 Stars
I did a lot of research on buying a laser printer. I was attracted to this one because of the price, network capability, and fast printing. One thing that caused me concern was the reviews on the power needs. Some said lights would flicker, it's really loud, etc. I don't consider any of these true. I was waiting for some breakers to snap, but it printed well and no noticeable power problems. You can definitely hear when it's printing, but it's not loud by any means. It literally took me 2-3 minutes and 6 or 8 clicks of the mouse to get this drivers installed and available to the network.
Print quality is on par if not better than my old laserjet as far as I can tell. I put 5 stars not because it's the best machine ever made, but because I think it's the best bang for your buck and a grandma could get this thing to work.
Customer Review: Back to Basics Black BROTHER Summary: 5 Stars
Oh Brother why did I get caught up in color inkjet printing when my new black laser-jet printer is so much cleaner/faster to use. No more running out of color when I still have lots of black left (don't think you can only use the black - they are somehow connected). The Brother is sooo fast too. Also this Model lets me print down stairs or on my patio near my pool wirelessly. It was simple to get my XP-Laptop working and I saw a VISTA install disk in the packet but didn't use it. I still have my new Kodak 5300 (after I had to get a replacement from Best Buy because the previous one died because of a download I made to help it. The new one is very good but I hear that they (Kodaks) are prone to big problems. I dedicate the Kodak to making color prints from my SMD card BUT NO MORE PRINTING documents in color. K.I.S.S. is my new motto.
Customer Review: Fast printing Summary: 5 Stars
I am very happy with this purchase. I am very happy with the toner vs. ink. I just threw out an Epson ink jet (CX3700?) that was a replacement for the first one that stopped working right. (I should have kept the first one, at least when that one crapped out, it could still be used as a scanner.) This all in one printer stopped functioning period. So....All-in-ones are inexpensive, but also cheap? Not sure about this statement, but I decided to go with a stand alone printer.
Black printing only? This is ok with me. When do I really need to print in color?
So far, I like the potential durability I see with this Brother printer. This printer is not noisy like I have experienced with other printers. I see no folded should see the corners that get folded on that darn Epson I just threw out.
Customer Review: Absolutely PERFECT for a small office Summary: 5 Stars
Like many others reading the reviews of this printer, I was confident I was getting the right printer for my office. Received it in a short amount of time, and others say it's easy to setup on a network, I say it's WAY TOO EASY to setup on a network. This printer has exceeded my expectations of a $125.00 printer. Everything is plug and play... makes me wonder why all network printers aren't this easy. Printer speed is fast. It's not a silent printer, but who really cares. It prints so fast that when you notice the noise, it's done printing already. Also, the paper curling thing people have been saying, it's barely anything. Give it like two minutes and it straightens out and it doesn't look unprofessional at all. If you're looking for an easy plug and play network printer and exceptional speed, this is the one for you.
