Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Brother HL-2070N Network Monochrome Laser Printer (Black)Customer Review: Easy Ethernet, Fast and reasonalby priced. Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this because I wanted a laser printer but ethernet capability was my top priority. Like others, setup time was about 10 minutes and that includes the wireless network capability. I just plugged into its ethernet port plugged the other end into my wireless router and was instantly printing wirlessly. Although speed and warmup times were not of much consequence to me, both are amazingly quick. A bonus I didnt expect. It goes to sleep and pops itself on as soon as I send a job to it. Small footprint is great. I sat it on top of my Sony WA40 subwoofer and it looks like it is built into it. Holds 250 sheets of paper tucked into the footprint. One user complained of a problem printing multiple pages from From Adobe. I also print a great deal from Adobe and tried one page through several pages. It printed them all as I instructed without a hitch. If you want it wireless, small, and fast you cant go wrong with this little wonder.
Customer Review: Great Personal Printer Summary: 5 Stars
I have read the reviews and was worried about the paper curling... So, does it curl?? wellll ok, a little.. if you look carefully from the side... but come on, what do you want for $100.
This is simply an awesome personal printer. It is very fast (as fast as the network printers at work... ok at least "my" work), the print quality is good (slightly grainy on images, but not noticable on text), and the ease of networking capabilities is why I bought it!
The form factor is perfect. It's big enough to fit the paper inside, but small enough to fit comfortably on your desk.
To sum up... if you want a cheap, fast, "good" quality, networkable printer, this is it!
Oh yea... remember, this is a "laser" printer. Say it with me now... "laaaser printer". That means that it is Black & White, NOT color. If you expected a color laser for $100, then I have a bridge to sell you.
Customer Review: Excellent for our law office Summary: 5 Stars
This little printer is the sole printer in my law office. We use it for our normal printing and have a scanner that puts out to it in place of having a copier. We use it to print our envelopes, too. We have had good luck with it, we refill each toner cartridge one time, which is easy to do by the way, so it's quite economical. After refilling more than once sometimes the carts begin to leak the toner. It's fast enough for a small office. The print quality is very good and it is used it to print wills, court documents, and our business cards: we use only high quality papers (at least $12 a ream) by the way.
I like the fact that there are no plastic flaps or doors that must be left open.
On our unit when printing through the front tray, the paper or envelope must be pushed in there firmly, otherwise the unit won't grab it. I see no reason to spend a penny more on single sided printing.
Customer Review: Good alternative to HP Summary: 5 Stars
Everything works as expected. Quality and speed are great. I also like that it is more compact than most laser printers. Setting up the networking feature was very easy.
I use it as a network printer only without direct connection to any of my computers. The only issue I encounter on rare occasions is that if I print something after my laptop was in hibernation, the documents just sit in the queue without printing until I restart the computer.
I have not figured out whether the problem is with the printer, the router, the driver, or the laptop. This is the only reason for 4 stars vs 5. But it happens so infrequently that I can live with it without spending time to troubleshoot it.
UPDATE: I figured that the problem with printing was happening because of dynamic IP. Once I assigned it a permanent IP on my router everything is fine. So it definitely can be a 5-star printer.
Customer Review: Awesome Printer!!!!!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I read printer reviews out the ying yang before I bought this one, and then I bought this one. It is perfect for me. It is very easy to set up. It comes with a starter drum and toner cartridge that takes seconds to put in. The directions are clear. The paper is easy to load and hidden from plain view. The design is sleek, and looks very nice. It is lightweight and small which is awesome, and still has great resolution. My prints come out sharp and crisp. The printer comes with a cd, but my cd rom is broken, but it was no problem, as my computer's printer wizard was able to locate the software online and install it within minutes. This printer is a spacesaver, a timesaver, and a moneysaver. The toner cartridges last 2500 pages, and are cheaper than others. I like printing pictures too, but for color photos, an inkjet printer is better than any laser. Buy this if you want to print great text, for a great price.
