I bought this themometer when my oldest was about a year old, that was two years ago. It is SO much easier than taking the temp under the armpit or in the bottom, and a WHOLE lot faster. I have not had problems with inaccurate readings. As others have written, you just need to get it in the ear canal right. It is a little harder on our infant b/c she's smaller, but it still works. You can't beat the price either. Finding probe covers is a bit of a challenge though.Customer Review: Never had a problem Like I read others have had...

I'm reading these reviews and can't believe I have the same product. I have had NO problems with this thermometer. After my daughter had her 1st shots she caught a bad fever. It got so bad that I took her to the ER I told them what her temp was at home, and she had the same temp in the hospital. As for the battery, it won't die if you put it back in the pouch, because it turns off automatically.Customer Review: Works Great, But...

We got this to use with our newborn before we knew that you're not supposed to use an ear thermometer with infants. We use it anyway, and it works great. It's easy to use and fast to take a temperature. The only drawback is that you have to use a new tip cover everytime, so you have to keep refills on hand. (You can't just wipe it with alcohol like you do a glass thermometer.)Customer Review: Very reliable

We got this as a shower gift. It works well and gives an accurate reading...we compared the reading to an underarm temp and it was almost exactly the same.
The only problem we had was the battery dying out quickly, but we were able to find a replacement for it without a problem. We just keep an extra battery in the house in case.

When my 15 year old was little it was AWFUL to take his temperature. Now that I had my younger son (now 4) I purchased this thermometer and let me tell you it's SO easy to take his temp when he doesn't feel well. He even likes to tell me he's the "gocker" (doctor) and take mine as well.
