The Bracketron UFM-100BL Nav-Mat GPS Friction Dash Pad (God, what a mouthful) is a great product, especially at such a low price. It is a far more stable platform on which to mount a GPS such as the Tom Tom One XL, than the windshield of the car. With only a minimal amount of room to place this gem, it is as stable as the Rock of Gibraltar. I was concerned about it's stability before I used it, but after a 400 mile trip to Southern Colorado, and back, I'm convinced. The only time it shifted position was when I took it off my dashboard. Also, there was no visible jitter when mounted on the Nav-Mat. There was near-constant jitter when I had my GPS mounted to the windshield. I bought this mount for use with my Mio C520 for my trips to California, where it is illegal to use a mount on your windshield. (California Vehicle Code section 26708(a)(1) provides that "No person shall drive any motor vehicle with any object or material placed, displayed, installed, affixed, or applied upon the windshield or side or rear windows.")
It is a no brainer to use. Simply place the Nav-Mat on your dash and attach your GPS's windshield suction mount to the flat disk on the Nav-Mat. The Nav-Mat has a non skid surface.
It is very stable and works great. Actually I find it more convenient to attach my GPS to the Nav Mat than the windshield.

This product is great. I didn't have to mess up my dash with the sticky mount that came with my GPS. The window mount that came with my GPS mounted it too far away for me to see it well, so this was the perfect alternative. You suction your GPS to this product and you can place this product anywhere on your dash. No amount of braking will move it... it is weighted and does not move at ALL when you are driving. I attempted to brake hard to see if it would slide - nope. The best part, when it is a hot day, you just pick it up and set the entire thing on the floorboard... no dismounting, unsuctioning, nothing. It saves your GPS from the brutal sun. Worth every penny and it is well priced here on Amazon... it is twice this price in the store.Customer Review: Works great!

We use this with a Magellan GPS system on the dashboard of our Toyota Camry. My husband was skeptical at first, because the dashboard is neither wide nor is it flat. Amazingly, it fits well on the dashboard, without obstructing his view of the windshield. We first put the Magellan in the bracket that was included with the GPS, and then placed the bracket stand in the dash pad. It's amazing how the weight keeps it from sliding around, even with sharp turns of the car. I saw a similar one at our local electronics/stereo store for about $20 more, so this was really a good price. When he parks the car, he just puts the pad and GPS on the car seat and covers it with a car blanket. We live in California, so extreme temperatures are not a factor.Customer Review: Excellant Product!

Excellant product! Much better then the window mount that comes with the Garmin 255W. I work for a county law enforcement department and let one of my road deputies try this product. He had nothing but praises for this item. His window mount would let go of his Garmin 200W and sometimes end up in his lap. He was very impressed with this product. It stayed put right on his dash and never moved. I've recommended this to all of the deputies that have the Garmins in their crusers. It is very easy to remove from the dash and stash on the floor when leaving the car for a trip into the store. Then plopps right back on the dash when back in the car. Very good design and preformance. Can't say enouth good things about it. Buy one today. ;-)
