Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of BOSE(R) Triport Headphone - SilverCustomer Review: Undeserving of all the Hate Summary: 5 Stars
I'm not usually one to write reviews on Amazon. I've jotted out a few, but I was really just inspired to upset the hate parade against these beauts. I owned the Bose Triport headphones for 2 and a half years, enjoying them the entire time. I only parted ways when they were unfortunately stolen this past Summer.
I truly believe the people rating these as "delicate" or easy to break must be cavemen, wearing them while engaging in extreme sports, or intense headbangers. For the entirety of my time with these cans, I never spied a crack or any sign of fatigue on the headband or elsewhere. I dropped them more than once by mistake. I wore them for probably upwards of 300 hours, a conservative estimate. I used these things immensely and had no problem with anything breaking or wearing down.
I don't think enough can be said about the comfort on these. This is what sold me to buy them in the first place, even before I had a good sense of how they sounded (and they sound excellent, by the way.) When you bring the headphones up to your head, you'll notice each ear piece pivots freely and easily for optimal positioning and the best placement. They surround your ears completely and feel just as comfortable hours later as when you put them on. I've had 7-9 hour runs with these babies. I NEVER had to remove them because of discomfort, unheard of.
Now let's talk about the sound quality, huh? In all fairness, I am not a headphone entrepreneur who goes around Sennheiser, Grado and Shure conventions, trying on all the latest models. I had used $10 - $50 headphones prior. The headphones I was switching from were a $20 pair of Sonys from Walmart. That being said, The Bose blew me away. Key words? Balance, depth, warmth, FULLNESS. If I went a week without wearing them, they ALWAYS sounded better than I expected them to upon starting up a song. There's just brilliant clarity in these, and everything feels very balanced. Bass might be stronger than some would like, but that's not how I feel. I think they sound near-perfect.
I got them at $130 back in the day. Seeing they are just $70 now, I am tempted to buy them again to replace mine. However, I want to try other 'phones for variety sake. I am moving on to the Audio Technica ATH-M50s. I'll post a review on those for sure. But seriously, $70 for the Bose? Brilliant.
Who knows, maybe my tune will change after having the Audio Technica. I wouldn't mind. The Bose were well worth the money for me. I do miss them.
