You load your mp3 songs on this player the same way you'd put any files on a USB flash drive. That's it - it's ready to play. The two-year old twins took about 30 seconds to learn how it worked and they were busy scanning through the 100 or so songs I had loaded on the player.
I would have preferred better speakers but, otherwise, have no complaints about the hardware.
Mine player came with coupon good for 50 free downloads from downloadkidsmusic dot com. The choices at this website are limited but I started off choosing two collections of stories. The website doesn't tell you that the coupon won't work until you log in but the printed coupon does. I entered entirely fake information with a throw away web site because I don't trust the company. I had to enter the coupon number about four times because it kept asking for it again. Finally it told me my choices didn't qualify for the coupon. So I went back and made more choices but it wanted my credit card information before ever informing you of whether or not you had to pay anything. So I abandoned the process.
I'd be interested in hearing if anyone got their downloads for free and whether or not they got spammed afterwards.
