Looked around on the web for auto docks. I read the reviews and bought the Belkin. Product looks great and works great. As long as you don't live in a huge city I think you'll be able to find "dead space" on your radio to tune in the transmitter. Sound is excellent in my Beamer 328i. Doesn't get in the way of the shifter. The flexible support is easy to position and it comes with a ring spacer to make the fit tighter in your 12V outlet. I found I didn't need the spacer. Seems to stay put and is easy to reach. While driving cross-country, I did have to change the transmitter frequency due to new competing FM stations (one time). You can do this with the presents. One reviewer said this was touchy, but if you read the INSTRUCTIONS, you'll have no problems. Over all a great product and I'm happy with my purchase.Customer Review: Belkin TuneBase Fm Transmitter

this is one of the best products made for ipod, if you can figure out the few tricks to it, the first it to just find a station that if you go up .2 theres nothing, and down .2 theres nothing, hard to do but look in the low 90's for that one clear station, next if you want superb audio this is a trick most people don't know, FM can't handle lots of bass or treble so what you have to do is set your equalizer ON THE IPOD to LOUNGE, and then mess around with whatever you what bass and treble you want on the actual console, when you have the bass to high on the ipod it creates distortion because your console doesn't quite know how to interpret it right and play it through the speakers smoothly, i can bump the music as high as it goes on my infinity speakers and there's no distortion at all.Customer Review: here's the scoop

It looks like most of the negative reviews for this item are negative because of the flaws in FM transmitters, not because this product is inferior. Long story short, if you live in a crowded media market like Chicago, any FM transmitter will likely not work well. I live in Albuquerque, a decent-sized city, and it works pretty well. On the road, it's awesome, with no interference from local stations. The cradle is WAY better than having one of the ones with a cord. You must make sure that the power outlet/lighter is in a place in your vehicle to make this work. If it does, and you are in the market for an FM transmitter, this is the one to buy. If you must have CD quality sound or live in a crowded media market, do not get any FM transmitter.Customer Review: Love it

I bought this a year ago, and love it. I wanted something to listen to my IPOD in the car, and this was it. I live in upstate New York, and do not get any interference at all. I like that there are different holders that you can insert for different IPOD sizes. you can also preprogramm stations on the unit to help with easy changing if you do go into an area that is not getting good reception. A few times going into the city I have had to change my programmed channel, but for the day to day driving, I use the same one, no problems. You do have to shut off your ipod when you shut off the car, but I would do that anyway, never would live the IPOD in car, locked or not. I am getting ready to buy another one for my husband for fathers day.Customer Review: Excellent value

I bought this just prior to a 9-hour drive (each way) so that I could listen to my iPod. It's not perfect by any means, but thoroughly meets my needs. The adjustable arm connecting the part that plugs into my cigarette lighter and the part into which the iPod plugs does not seem to have the strength to hold the iPod upright (i.e., above the cigarette lighter), but is quite adequate to hold my iPod near me (my cigarette lighter is on the right-hand side of my console). I've exclusively used it with my radio at 88.1 FM and, although there is a Public Radio station at 88.1 in my area, when I plug the Belkin TunBase FM into the cigarett lighter my iPod plays right over it with no distortion. I'm really pleased with the Belkin TuneBase FM.
